  1. Yes I did receive a letter. It was in regards to the TEAS test, so I responded, got scheduled for the TEAS, passed it and then I received my letter of acceptance less than a month after passing the TEAS test. :)
  2. Hi Laura! That is so exciting! I'm sure you will get in this summer!!!! The program is going good. I'm in 4th semester now, our first test is tomorrow!! Super nervous but I have been studying my butt off! My graduation is on June 5th!!! I have my fingers crossed for you!!!!
  3. Hello again Lauramitr. Your score is actually good enough. Things are weighed differently for the LVNs as far as I'm concerned which is why I got in so fast. I only got a 66%, but I'm doing awesome in the program. They only require a 62% because that basically means you will more than likely succeed in the program if you can get atleast a 62%. My class had 30 LVNs and of those 30 only 3 didn't make it through the transition course which is 5 weeks. I am loving school, and I feel so blessed to be in the program. It is however a whole other beast compared to LVN. I graduated VN school as a Valedictorian and came into this program and my mind was blown for lack of better words. It is A LOT of studying and sacrifice. I had to give my full time position up at work which was hard, but I'm still able to work about 2 days per week. I got a B in the transition course, and a B in pediatrics which felt never ending! (I would be happy with Cs if it came down to it though! It's all about passing this crazy hard program) I am now in my psych rotation and it seems a lot easier than peds was, but it's still a lot of work none the less. Just go in knowing you have to sacrifice basically having a life for about a year. But for anyone who truly loves nursing it won't seem so difficult because you will be loving what you are doing. I know the bridge changed. For me I just have to do 3rd and 4th semester, but they have since changed the entire program which didn't affect me, but now bridge program is 2nd-4th semester from what I have heard. So I'm not sure how 2nd semester is. But either way, it sounds like you will be in this summer and I have no doubt that if you love what you do, that you will get through it! :)
  4. Hi Lauramitr. I started the LVN TO RN bridge program this summer. (2015) I'm currently in my second half of the 3rd semester. I applied for the bridge program in June of 2014, and I received a letter to take the TEAS test in the first week of January 2016. I took my TEAS in February if I'm remembering correctly and I was accepted into the program in March. I waited less than a year from applying to the program to actually getting in. It went very quick since I was busy working as an LVN. Just make sure you study for that TEAS test, I had a few friends who I work with who were one point from passing and didn't get to start the bridge with me. So study now! It's a lot of stuff that was covered in high school! I graduated high school in 2008. So imagine how much I forgot!!!
  5. I hope you guys get your letters this week!!!!! It will be a good way to celebrate nurses week with a letter of acceptance to the program!!! ☺️
  6. It is a lot! I'm worried I'm gonna miss a step! AVC requires two TB readings as well. But I think you just need the first reading (negative) and then you have a year to get your second reading if I'm reading this correctly.
  7. You are quite welcome Jdorsey! I'm excited for the two of you. I am sure you guys made the cut! And it will be an amazing and humbling experience.
  8. My bridge course starts on June 16th and my first deadline is for my background screening which has to be complete by May 15th and then everything else is due by June 4th. So for all the time consuming stuff they are giving us about a month. Goodluck to you and the original poster! I'm sure you two got in :) my fingers are crossed! And very cool that you have a back up plan!!!
  9. On the list that my physician has to fill out immunizations include MMR, TB, Varicella, Hep B vaccine series, Tdap or Td, and the flu vaccine. To be more specific.
  10. Thanks so much. You have to do a background screening and they will give you a website to go to that gives the school access to see your results, you will need a physical examination including a required blood and urine test, drug screening with alcohol, I went today to a place called "sixcess" it's part of the list they provide you with, you need the required immunizations including the annual flu vaccine, you must have two of the three required Hep B immunizations or positive titer. I have to have my CPR card from American Heart Association but I don't know if the generic applicants are required to have that, you have to purchase liability insurance and that's about it.
  11. Hi all. I myself have been stalking the all nurses website for sometime now to get any bit of info. I recently came across this post and thought I would share my experience. It's a little different because I registered for the LVN-RN bridge program for the Associates, but here is how it worked for me. I applied to the program in July of 2014. On February 28th 2015 I received my letter welcoming me to take my TEAS test that was scheduled for April 2nd. I had about a month and few days to prepare. Let me tell you that test was not easy but it is doable. My score was not the best BUT it was passing. AVC LOOKS FOR PASSING. I scored a 66% and I needed a 62%. After having passed I was still nervous because I would read that AVC doesn't base it just off of your TEAS score, that they do point system and some other stuff and I was a bit worried that because of my score being lower I wouldn't make the cut. Well this past weekend on May 1st I received my letter of acceptance into the bridge program. (So my score was good enough, once again it was passing.) It is a thick packet that comes in a large yellow manila envelope. I have already started the process of background screening which you can register for online, I have purchased my scrubs etc. I will start on June 16th. I am 25 and have been practicing as an LVN for less than 1 year. I am very excited to continue my education in a field that I feel so blessed to be apart of. I just thought I would share some dates on roughly how long it took to hear back from the time I applied to the time I got in. So technically less than a year. Goodluck to all of you í ½í¸Œ
