Hello everyone,
I have just applied to the nursing program at Antelope Valley College in Lancaster. I just wanted to see if anyone else has applied yet. Hopefully we see how this goes.
I've been a stay at home wife lol I've been meaning to get a job but things always come up & now that I've been actually looking around, I feel like I might get in soon. So for now I just do some volunteering and babysitting. I know people still work & I've heard of someone that was pregnant while in the program. Insane!
I know it'd be hard but I feel like I'd get overwhelmed if I did both, since I've never worked and only focused on school.
Wow, I'd never do the program pregnant lol but I know what you mean, school has been the only thing I've done mostly too.. Like babysitting for me isn't really a job but they pay me lol I love the kids tho!! If I had to babysit them every once in a while durin the program I totally would but right now I literally take/pick up from school & babysit the 4month old most of the day & help with homework & chores.. So i wouldn't have the free time to do all that on school days & then trying to get studying in.. That program is a full time job!! Haha
I have a job. I work as a server. I think when I get in the program I'll work only 2 or 3 days a week and at night. We close pretty early where I work. So it should be okay. Work and school isn't too hard to juggle. I always thought it would be. But if you don't have to work don't haha. It is easier. But it's doable! Also, is there any way they can tell you what semester you'll make it into. Without the letters, like does Karen know, and can she tell you? Or can she only do that for the wait list number?
Everyone I know hasn't got anything except for either the points paper to fill out & turn in or the blue paper (saying you're still interested in doing the program) to turn in depending on how long they've waited.. Let me see if I have an email from before, cuz I swear I thought Karen told me November lol

Hi Kristena:
Please understand that are using the multiple screening criteria (points system) to determine admissions for spring 2016, with a smaller percentage of students taken from the "first-come, first-served" waiting list.
You are currently number 50 on the "first-come, first-served" waiting list.
Students will be notified of their admission status for the spring in November. Please note that no verbal notifications will be made.
so that's an email from August lol I was freakin out a little bit, " like what if ppl got letters already & I missed it?!!" We didn't though :)

Ohh okay. I wasn't sure if it changed because the requirements changed. So I hope it's still November!
