Antelope Valley College Spring 2016

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello everyone,

I have just applied to the nursing program at Antelope Valley College in Lancaster. I just wanted to see if anyone else has applied yet. Hopefully we see how this goes.

Yeah, how many points do you have? I have 40pts & I'm somewhere around #50 on the wait list. If you we don't get letters next month Karen said they would able to tell us where we stand on the list after thanksgiving.. It's right now they're making all their desicions & stuff..

I have 65 points. I don't have a degree already and I don't speak a second language so I didn't get any points there. But that will be good to know where we stand. It's hard having no idea lol. You said they are accepting 60 students? Not 40 for the spring? I'm so glad I can talk to someone who has all the answers to my questions lol.

Yeah if you look at the schedule of classes on the website, there's 60 spots instead of 40. So I'm like yesssss!! Please let that be a sign haha.. I know how you feel, I bothered them so much in the office that I pretty much have all the answers I needed to just wait around for the last year.. You will probably get in tho!! 65 is a good number for points, I'm not sure of the average. I wish they would tell us stuff like that tho. Like how many ppl actually apply & what a competitive number of points would be..

Yeah I wish they told us too, it would help us figure stuff out for the in between. 60 spots is way better than 40! Fingers crossed we can get in for the spring! I wish I knew they average. I was thinking 65 wasn't too good because of the other two areas I'm lacking. I got an 80 on my TEAS so I got 15 points.

Well I have my fingers crossed for us!! If this program teaches us anything, I guess it is to have patience lol

Haha that's true! What teachers did you have for all the sciences?!

I had Langjhar for Anatomy & Physiology; Shahla for Micro.. I literally took all three in a row.

Anatomy in fall

Physiology in spring

Micro in summer...

what about you?

Oh my goodness! Micro in the summer! That's impress! Langjhar for anatomy, Edsin for physiology and Hemsley for micro. I enjoyed all the classes but they definitely were a lot of hard work!

I took Hemsley too! When did you take Micro?

I took it in the fall of 2013! You?!

I heard she was the hardest. I feel so so lucky to have had Shahla lol but summer killed me!!!

She was really hard. I honestly was so surprised I passed. I took her fall 2014
