Starting a new 2014 thread for AVC hopefuls. Seems on the older thread many of them have started or moved on..

I applied June '13 and was hopeful for this fall, but came just shy. Now I am number 3 on the wait list for Spring '15... Still planning on getting my physical and shots, CPR certs, etc done in case anyone defers or backs out.

Anyone else out there in for this fall, still waiting or also starting in spring? Love to hear from everyone!

I just sent in my application about a week ago. How long does it normally take for them to review the application and find out what number I am on the waitlist? Should I be following up or is it just for me to wait for them to contact me?

They won't contact you until it's time for your TEAS and then again when you've been offered a spot for the semester. Im not sure how long it takes them but I waited about 2 weeks then I called. Then I'd call again periodically, after the TEAS or each semester just to check. Good luck, hope it goes by quickly!

Thank you! Yes I ended up calling yesterday but they are not able to review my application nor tell me what number I am on the waitlist until August bc the staff isn't in :( But they did tell me I won't receive any phone calls and that I would have to follow up myself. I'm just a little impatient to find out lol

Hey all,

I have a question. I am currently 125 on the list. What do you all think my chances are for getting into the spring of 2015? I applied the first week of January of this year.

If you're 125 your chances are kind of slim. I'm number 30 and they told me I might get a chance in the Spring 2015. Keep checking you nevr know .

125 is a slim chance but being number 30 is a guaranteed in. AVC generally takes 60 people in the spring but even if they take the 40, you're still in. I wonder why they office used the word "might." I know they plan on implementing a new admissions criteria but I'm pretty sure thats happening fall 2015. Hopefully they didn't change that to a sooner date.

Hi Opto! It looks like I will be in for Spring 2015. I feeling nervous and excited ;-)

thats great! gl in the program! i believe my gf will also be in your class. she's excited to start as well. in the meantime, ill be finishing my 4th semester there. pretty nervous myself. from what i gathered, last semester had roughly 50 students or so and i only counted 28 people at the graduation....yikes!

My co-worker will be in her third semester and my neighbor graduated 5 years ago. If they can do it we can. ;-) I just want to get in already. I'm a med tech and I feel I need to learn more about medication we had an 8-hour training ...and don't think is enough

Hii!

Did you start your transitional courses yet? Im going to apply for the lvn to rn bridge as well. I'm a little worried since it's almost the fall and it might push me back..

How many times a year do they accept lvns? If you have any more information please let me know! :)

Thank you

I have been accepted to the Summer LVN-RN bridge program and was hoping I could get some insight on what to do to prepare, from someone who has already bridged. I work at a prison and feel as if I have lost a lot of my skills/knowledge. The syllabus will be available a week before school, but unfortunately I will be out of the country and wont have access to a computer. I would like to be able to take my books on the plane & study when traveling. Can anyone give me some ideas of what to study/read ahead? TIA

I applied a month ago to the RN program and they told me that I am number 180. Does anyone know when I will be getting the letter to take the teas exam? and should I start studying for the exam?
