studing nursing in Puerto Rico
thanks for the info! If the GE is online, will I be doing those GE's while in the nursing program of Inter? I've done some pre-reqs, hopefully they transfer through. Also, what if my gpa isn't that great? I sent my transcripts for high school and some college courses (no bachelors, just classes I've taken) but if they base it off my high school gpa.. It's around a 2.4.. Which is low I know!

I don't know anyone in PR . People that I knew already graduated and came back to CA. I'm trying to find other Californians who are interested as well.

How much is the UMET program? I heard InterAmer is 15 grand, 2-2.5 years. I heard UMET is 3-4 years. I don't think clinicals will be in English.. Depending on patients I guess. I don't speak Spanish but I'm determined to move to Puerto Rico for school. It's currently really hot in CA. You'll like it here although, many nurses here are having a hard time finding jobs, some of my friends are leaving CA to work at other states. I heard NY is the highest paying for nurses.

I plan to only move to PR to do the BSN program and then move back to CA once I graduate. my plan was to go to the Metro Campus in San Juan for InterAmerican and live in the housing near school.

Wow! I had no idea InterAmerican had one accreditation. I applied recently and I plan to visit in May. I'm from California. Now that you told me about the accreditation, I'll apply there as well. My friend went to school in Rio Piedras, I assumed it was InterAmerican because I read a lot of old threads about it.. But they never mentioned which school. can you please send me a link of where I can apply for UMET or UPR? Also, I read that UMET was longer than Inter?

Moving To Puerto Rico For Nursing School at UMET!?
Hi! Thanks for answering. Looks like I'm finally going to visit this school in May, InterAmerican Metro Campus.. San Juan. My friend graduated there a few years ago and told me even though it's considered an English program, it's pretty much 60% Spanish. I'm just a little worried because I don't speak Spanish. Did you know some people who only spoke English as well and got through the program lecture/clinicals just fine? Also, since the English program is at night, was it safe enough to walk from the housing to school? .. (I heard there's housing kinda near school)

la inter or UMET
Hello! I was wondering if you ever moved to PR? I plan to attend InterAmerican this summer. I've been in contact with the D.O.N. through phone/emails. Most people I know have attended InterAmerican in San Piedras.. Which is why I'm choosing that school. I'm going to check out the school this May.

Moving to Puerto Rico, InterAmerican University
Hello everyone! I recently applied to InterAmerican University, still waiting for my acceptance letter. I've been doing a lot of research on this school based on other threads, emails/phone calls with the D.O.N., and through word of mouth from students who have graduated from this school. I'm very determined to move to PR by July but I don't speak Spanish and I'm worried how I'll be able to get my way around on the big move. However, I plan to visit the school in May, maybe by then I can straighten things out. Anyone else planning to move there and start this summer, hopefully we can all meet up and figure this school out together! Add any information/questions/advice below! Thank you!

UMET @ Interamerican- Fall 2014
Hello! I was wondering what happens if your gpa is below 2.5?? I didn't do so well in high school back in 2007.. Only about a 2.4 and I've been to multiple colleges to take my pre-reqs for the RN program and they are a little higher than a 2.5. Which gpa would they choose? Would they add them up? Someone wrote that they took the highest gpa of one of the colleges she had. Would that mean they would only choose my highest gpa? I don't have an associates or bachelors, I've only took courses..

Failed NCLEX- PN last week.. needing HELP PLEASE!
Hello! I know this thread was a couple years ago but I would like to know what you did differently when you took your exam again? (And if you passed) I did a RN review course that was about $600 (I graduated LVN but supposedly the review was good for both LVNS AND RNS they said) Well they mainly told us to focus on content (they told me if i focus on content I would be able to answer).. So with all the packets they gave me I reviewed them every single day for a whole month. NCLEX exam day comes and I ended up getting the bad pop up. I was so upset I went straight to Barnes and Noble the same night to buy Saunders 5th edition and now this time around I'm just doing questions everyday instead of just focusing on content
