Starting a new 2014 thread for AVC hopefuls. Seems on the older thread many of them have started or moved on..

I applied June '13 and was hopeful for this fall, but came just shy. Now I am number 3 on the wait list for Spring '15... Still planning on getting my physical and shots, CPR certs, etc done in case anyone defers or backs out.

Anyone else out there in for this fall, still waiting or also starting in spring? Love to hear from everyone!

I applied a month ago to the RN program and they told me that I am number 180. Does anyone know when I will be getting the letter to take the teas exam? and should I start studying for the exam?

Congrats! I called the other day and found out I'm 177. So we might be in around the same time. I heard you take the TEAS right before starting the program. I plan on ordering a TEAS teat book soon to start. Have you gotten a book already? I've looked at Barnes and Noble for this specific book but it's been out of stock for awhile so I have to order from Amazon. I definitely want to make sure I'm ready lol

I just received my book in the mail today, got it from ebay. Did you take the new perquisites? Math115? And comm101?

math115 is statistics, they recently changed the requirements, before it use to be comm103 and now it's 101. New requirements are posted online at avc.edu.

Starting spring 2015, they will take 50% 0f the students from the waiting list number and other 50% from the point based system I think.

I got study manual for the test of essential academic skills (Teas) version 5. Point-based system is when they pick 50% of the student based on their pre-requisites grades and tea score etc.

Have you heard anything for Spring 2015 yet? Im tempted to call and find out when they will begin mailing notifications. Looks like we will be in the same semester!

We'll get something in the mail sometime next month. I've heard it's a envelope with papers on where to do the background check, physical, buy uniforms and other stuff.
