Another word for "pulling"?

Nurses General Nursing

I'm doing a debate against "pulling" Rn's to floors they do not normally work.

What is another word for this? When I google "pulling nurses" a gazillion things that have nothing to do with the topic come up... Is there another way I can phrase this?

Thanks

I like reassigning

"Floating" is the term I've heard used most.

Float... but personally it feels more like the dunking test that used to be used to determine if people were witches to me... ;)

Just curious: Is this a school exercise, or is your facility's administration asking for input on this issue?

Personally, I think 'reassigning' sounds way too "PC" for what is happening. I, too, have heard floating mostly (although this sounds like it is a choice by the nurse, not a procedure for short staffing).

how about removing nurses from thier home unit midshift and sending them to another unit?

them to another

My hospital talks about one unit "sharing" a staff member with another unit. Doesn't that sound nice?

It's for school
