Passed NC4 with an A today. Yay!!! I'm listing my Chancellor's study guide on eBay right now. I also used Lisa Arends' notes, as well as notes from Studygroup101. The EC practice tests were extremely helpful, as always.

I'm taking NC7 on September 17 and NC5 on September 26. Rollin' along .. :)

Oh, well done!

I'm finding this test to be the most daunting. May I ask where you found the most emphasis?

Definitely in the Abnormal Cellular Growth area, followed (it seemed) very closely by Respiratory. I knew that if I did well on the cancer material, I would do fine on this one because that was the most unfamiliar part for me on NC4. Medics know all about Cardiac and Respiratory already, ha ha! :D

May I ask why you are taking NC7 before NC5? Is there any benefit in that. I am planning on going the excelsior route as soon as I get my LPN. I am just trying to get as much info as possible.

NC7 is all about nursing history/ethics/law/etc., so it seemed the easiest one to study simultaneously with another NC exam. That's all! :)

One more bit of info for you to consider: because there is about a six-month wait time between applying for the CPNE (Excelsior's 2.5-day final clinicals exam) and the actual test date, be sure you get your Nursing Concepts tests out of the way first; you can apply for your CPNE date when you've finished NC1-NC7 and if you've completed 21 of the 31 other required credits. That'll save you some time, and you can do the other classes while you wait for your CPNE date. I'll still have Microbiology, Lifespan Developmental Psychology, and Sociology to do after I finish all the Nursing Concepts, so I'll do those while I wait for my date. :)
