[ANN]retrogression again

Published

This is to tell according to shusterman that there will be retrogression again from oct 05 can someone guide to it i am worried hearing this news

Hi to all. Does this "retrogression" affect those who are still applying for NCLEX and visascreen or only those already on consular processing and I-140 petitions?

How about those who uses their tourist visas to take shortcuts? Will this cut them off since they won't be able to apply for "AOS" anymore and H1B and "work permits" aren't available for RNs. I have no tourist visa and its really unfair that those who have use it this way. thanks. :)

Those who are applying for NLCEX and Visa Screen is NOT AFFECTED by retrogression (well for the meantime). It will AFFECT THEM ONCE THEY START THEIR IMMIGRATION VISA PETITION and visas for Schedule A are no longer available.

RETROGRESSION WILL AFFECT EVERYBODY WHO ARE APPLYING FOR A GREENCARD. It does not matter whether you are going for Consular Processing, Adjusting Status from tourist or working visa...You go to the same process of applying...and if there are no visas...you have to wait for 4 to 7 years.

Well as i have said, those who have tourist visas thinking that they can save time and can take a shortcut...should better think again.

GO FOR CONSULAR PROCESSING >>> much faster now especially in California where you can get an approval in a few months...

suzanne, honestly, do you think that foreign nurses would still be in demand for the next 5 years? is there an increase in numbers of US high school students choosing to go to nursing school? is the US local nursing pool really shrinking?

There shortage is actually going to be even greater. There has always been a need. Even if there are more students wishin gto go into nursing, not all are going to stay, and there are not enough school positions for all of the students.

I would not worry about it....................your job here will be safe.:)

happy news friends we will be getting 90,000 more visas that too principal applicant to be counted in this no family members great na so i think problem solved for next decade. soon we will be there, hope visa centres work fast esp vermont

Consular processing? Meaning going through the embassy?

Some people are saying that it's not a good idea.

errrrr.....was it signed into law already? i thought the bill has not been approved yet

Don't worry about this, it doesn't apply to you. Plus the numbers are current for your country of birth, the biggest issue is for nurses from the PIC countries, as well as a few others.

You are already in the US and have been for quite some time.

It hasn't been approved yet, at least as far as I know.

Oh, yes, Suzanne, i know it's not for me:wink2: . I was just talking for no reason:D

But seriously, i just wanted to say it so that people do research before they do anything that could bring problems.

Sorry, i don't know exactly why people say it's not a good idea and "risky". But i did hear it from a few people.

What they are talking about is nurses that come to the US on a toursit visa, then look for a job. If they do not get processed before their visa expires, and do not get an extension, then they can be required to leave the US for at least three years, if not even ten, for overstaying. Not all extensions are granted anymore.

So it is much safer for them, to go the route of being processed while they are still in their home country............the loinger way. But you have already lived here for quite some time.
