I wanted to start a thread for all of the people who are waiting for the November ANC selection board, specifically if you have/waiting on the M5 identifier for Emergency Nursing. I thought we could suffer together and update each other while we wait. You are welcome to post if you have another specialty or none at all.

My status:

I have submitted all documents, and waiting on M5 identifier approval, physical approval and for the packet to make it past QA.

I knew that the list was out because my station received the information on our select/non select applicants. Thats why I said that your Recruiter will be contacting you soon, lol.

What city/state are you located in?? Because I need to transfer to that station. Today is a WORK DAY. We just got off a 4 day pass for Thanksgiving lol. I need to transfer to that station : )

How far along are you?? Boy/girl?

Are you an ICU RN? If so, how long? Are you an RN for the Reserves?

Im a CVICU RN. Not enough experience in ICU yet. Started CVICU in August but prior to that have over a year of tele/medsurg. So my Army contract for AD guarantees I would go straight to Critical Care Course after OBC and before I got to first permanent duty station.

YEs Im a 2LT in Army Reserves so I still need the General to give me his blessings. Brigade didnt even want to send up my 368 request until my recruiters talked to them. Brigade seargeant and major were saying since I hadnt attended OBC yet they couldnt release me. That got straightened out and atleast its going up the chain. Im actually worried about that as much as I am about being selected. Since my unit is going away Im hoping the General will look to offload me to AD instead of trying to reassign me to a unit out of state.

I'm sorry to hear that for you, but remember, There is alllllwwwaaayyys next year! Just focus on the year to improve w/ more certifications, experience, & knowledge for your OWN self with time to enjoy it :). Many of us have waited a long time....just persevere & enjoy life in the meantime. :redbeathe

i'm so sorry to hear the bad news!

i haven't heard anything from my recruiter since about the 17th so i'm really hoping to hear something from him soon-- very soon! i'm turning into a nervous wreck knowing the list is out..

here's hoping i don't botch the presentation i have to give in the morning over this! lol

50 spots or less. any other year you probably would have been selected. find out what you can do to become a better candidate for next year and apply with me. :up:
