Anatomy and Physiology 2 Struggling

Published

so i'm 19 i have been at a community college for 2 years and am a pre nursing student.

am taking cellular biology, A&P, A history Class and a human development class.

so in A&P1 i got a B+ and the teacher was tougher than A&P2 teacher.

am struggling with this class the teacher talks too much and i can't comprehend.

he gave us a note packet and there is no powerpoints.

i attend SI study sessions three times a week two before class and one after class.

i don't skip class and attend everyday.

i really need a A in this class guys and i haven't talked to this teacher because yet.

he doesn't pass back any tests or quizes and we only have taken one test and i got a 79 out of 100 and he added 5 points from a pop quiz so really i think it would have been lower.

should i go talk to my old teacher on how to do better because she is also teaching A&P2 this semester but i couldn't take it because it was in the morning.

so what to do?

during lab we take 5 point quizzes and i studied and it was about the heart and i messed up today so.....?

i don't know what to do and sorry for the bad use of words.

Talk to THIS instructor. Soon. Ask for help. Talking to your old instructor probably won't do anything.

HOW are you studying? Is it effective for you?

study harder or pick a different major. the pre reqs are tough for a reason, to prepare u for the nursing program. if u think pre reqs r tough, wait till u get in the program its like 10x harder. hate to break it u bud but it is what it is. i had a hard time with the pre reqs too when i first started but i just sucked it up and like i said just studied harder. i memorized everything from the book and class notes, i forced myself to study harder, i had to, i didnt think it was possible but u just have to believe u can do it. if u have trouble understanding concepts from class just post it hear and ill try to help out

Good day, Bodybuilder1:

Do speak to your professor to find out what you can change / improve before the next exam. Do take your notebook so you can show your professor your notes, and ask if they would recommend any changes in how you take notes. Do try to isolate what areas of the exam questions give you the most problems? Terminology? Processes? Structures? Etc.

I've been told over and over that A&P 1 and 2 are the "make or break" classes; if you can make it through them, then you should be able to handle harder classes.

Thank you.

Having been through both, I would sit down and talk to your current instructor. A lot of rumors go around about how tough one teacher is over the other but they all have to teach the same material laid out by the dept. This teacher may have a different style of teaching but is teaching the same material all the others teach. I don't like study groups because your study style may not match the group and not a whole lot of studying gets done in my opinion. I am now in Advanced Human Physiology. I have it on Mondays so I spend the weekends studying.
