So Im looking to take Anatomy and Physiology online, anyone know a good online college or college around the Antelope Valley?? Any suggestions would be great!
If you thrive at online school, what is going to happen when you get to nursing school and you have to stay in class all day some days? I am wondering how that will impact you since you become a "space cadet" when you have to physically be in class.
There are hybrid nursing programs.
I, too, have a hard time staying focused in lecture. I usually end up reading the material on my own and using lecture time to work on my assignments.

Spent plenty of time on student doc and never saw any discussion for any serious pre-med talking about a med school accepting online science classes with labs. Hell people say CCs are even discriminated against...
I am not going to search but if I make a claim I will at least try to back it up.

I never said anything about pre-meds. I've never looked at those threads so I don't know what those people talk about.
Some schools do discriminate against cc's, and some don't. Some won't accept online classes, some will.

You said student doctor, 99% of that site relates to physicians and pre-meds. What PA/vet programs accept online labs?

I'm going off when I was in high school. I'm older now and will take it MUCH more seriously now that I've sold 5 years of my life just to pay for it! Things are sooo much different when you actually have to pay for it yourself ya know. :) I'm much better now.
As for people getting A's in the online environment but not learning the material... what are you doing on your work? Just looking in the book for the answer to get 100%? You get what you put into it. If it's so easy to get an A and you didn't come out knowing the material it sounds like you did yourself a personal disservice, it's not the online format's fault.
FYI There will be nothing on my transcript stating whether or not the class was taken online or on campus. So they wouldn't know anyway.[/quote']There are medical schools that I've looked into that explicitly state that they will not accept any online science classes. With that said, I'm sure they could find out if they want to.
If you're taking courses through a school that is well known for offering online sciences/labs, you can be certain nursing programs are aware of them regardless if it says you took it online or not. They most certainly do have ways of finding these things out. That being said, every nursing program has their own rules. Some will accept online sciences and some won't. Your best bet is going to be asking potential programs directly what their policy is.
The important thing to distinguish here is whether or not the lab is online. To me, it sounds like you're looking for a class with the lecture and lab online. I would sincerely advise against this. Though it won't necessarily say "online distance course", a lot of nursing schools have been around long enough to know who offers completely online science courses.... Particularly because so few schools actually do. I am taking anatomy this semester, with the lecture portion only online. It's actually perfect for me because we read the textbook cover to cover, which is how I learn... But the prof said it is definitely the harder route. I would think very carefully before taking a science course online,
I'm in anatomy right now (I have to take anatomy and then physiology, not the combo) and I absolutely could not imagine trying to do this from home. Maybe the lecture part, and then the lab in person. I'm going to try to take a hybrid for my physiology. I would research though and make sure that the school you want to get into will accept online science labs. Mine doesn't.
