I finished A&P 1 last semester and finished out with a B, but now I am finishing up A&P 2 and am struggling to finish with a B and I'm so afraid if I don't do well on the Lab test and Lecture final that I'll end up with a C in the class! This class has been kicking me in the rear! I'm working 2 job and taking this class similtaneously with Chemistry; so needless to say I have a lot on my plate! But if I do finish with a C my science GPA will be a 3.25. I would really hate for my science GPA to keep me from getting into nursing school. Any advice or encouragement would be really helpful!

You need to stay positive! I am taking physio, micro, and chem. I have a full plate also. My chem class is so draining but I need to focus on not how hard it is. I find I do better when I say to myself I will understand this information. So try YouTube to connect dots it works for me! Smile the semester is almost over. I have a A in physio and micro. Chem I have been going back and forth all semester. Right now I am at 89% I will be fighting the next two weeks to get that A. Good luck!!!!

Camwill you rock there's no way I would have made it through like you have with A's. To have two Sciences together is a lot! Kudos to you. It does depend on a persons workload, family obligations and learning style. Anything is possible when you believe!!! :)
We do need to believe in ourselves through these bumps to accomplish our goals. Good luck everyone!

I would say I'm capable of learning anything. I've had a hard time getting B's in science. I would definitely say I know a lot more than I did before I took biology, psychology, sociology and physiology.
I would have to say that I learned alot about myself in this semester. I have always loved Science but A&P was a horse of a different color. I enjoyed learning the different topics. Developing better study tactics is what the challenge was. I really pushed myself with learning the different areas of our body. I learned also the best way for me to retain information is by repeating things out loud. Some people can just read or listen and they have a topic embedded in their brain. I am not fortunate as that. The most important thing is that at least I have learned the best way that suits me. :)

I found A&P to be easier than I thought it was going to be. I had read about people doing flash cards and what not, but realized it wasn't the technique for me. I have to make sure that I write things down and mentally replay them. I finished my second to last test last night (lab practical). I'd have to totally fail the final next week to drop my grade but otherwise I am getting an A in the class.

Wow! This is strange reading this because I'm in the exact same predicament. I'm taking A&P 2 concurrently with micro myself. I received a solid B in A&P 1 and now I'm struggling maintaining a B in this A&P 2 class as well. Of course I changed instructors so I had to get use to her teaching and she is ALOT tougher than my previous one. Anyways, I hope we both can squeak by with atleast B's cause that is still a good grade. :) I'm also floating around a 3.3 gpa so depending on what I get in these classes will change it. Good luck to us!

it will be hard to get into the nursing program with less than a 3.5 gpa. what saved me many times was having a voice recorder to record the classes and notes on, i'd listen to them in my car going to/from school and work,, that gave me an hour a day free study time and its easy to listen to them laying in bed with eyes closed. If you dont have one,, get one or two of them. I use one for medsurg and one for pharm so that they will all be together.
Thanks for all the advice and encouragement! I ended up in the class with a C... Booo!! But even with that said I think I still might have a shot at getting into the nursing program that I've applied to! The average accepted Science GPA for the program is a 3.22 and the average cumulative is a 3.34. So while I now have a 3.25 science GPA, my cumulative is still a 3.79! Hopefully i will be able to get in the first go around and if not I'll give A&P 2 another shot! The great that came out of this class though is how much I learned! Even though I made a C, I definitely did not just skate by! I worked super hard and learned a lot!! So keep your head up all of you A&Per's, the end is near!!!
You can do it! Just study hard and stay focused! Good luck to you in these last few weeks!!
