Anatomy & Physiology Fall 2008

Published

Several had mentioned starting a study thread early so we could get prepared for our fall A&P class, so here goes. I have gathered several websites from both here and on my own, so wanted to post them early on so that we wouldn't have to search for them. Please feel free to add to them and also any advice or study tactics that seem to work for you.

Thankyou to Eveyone here at AllNurses who have provided so much information in one spot.

Ok, that's it for tonight....I have several others but hopefully this will keep everyone busy for a day or 2 :chuckle:yeah:I'm sure we all have diferent study habits and will need to find our own way there but I am hoping we can work together as a study team.

Maybe each day or two, someone could provide a study tip or an mneumonics for memorization for tissues or nerves, anything that is helping you learn. Or if you come accross somethin that you can't use, maybe someone else can.

 OFF to Bed for me

just took this quiz got a 70% on the first quiz. I need to review negative feed back I just skimmed over it. Oh and if you go to the home page it will lead to cool links and lessons.

I am currently taking A&P I..I will be done August 4...I just took the quiz and made 90%...the only reason I missed one was because I didnt finish reading the answers.UGH!!!!!!!!! I read superficial thinking it said superior!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I guess I have learned something then uhh

Wow, thank you so, so much!!!!!:heartbeat This is exactly what I need for my Fall Anatomy class. I too, have been trying to get a head-start in studying, so thank you!

Where I'm currently going to school, they use the large Marieb textbook. I found the link to the open site, so I thought I'd share it:

http://wpscms.pearsoncmg.com/bc_marieb_happlace_7_oa/

And the school where I'm going to be taking my Anatomy course uses the slimmed down version of the big Marieb text. I found its website too and here it is:

http://wps.aw.com/bc_marieb_ehap_9/79/20307/5198647.cw/index.html

Both of these are open sites, so you don't even have to log in. I'm happy to report that I got 100 on the quiz everyone is taking about. But its only the 1st chapter lol. Good luck to us all and may we all get As!

We can't get our books until a week before school starts. I am not all that worried about A&P though. I handpicked my teacher and I have had her before. She is fabulous. Its all the nursing classes that I am stressed over.

Congrats to those who did well on the test.....I need a litte more practice...I have a Human Biology midterm on Mon....the rest of the wknd will be spent studying.

Maria, Thankyou for the sites....they will come in handy since I don't get my book til the first week of school....we are getting new editions.

Ang, you are welcome...nice to have a Prof you are familiar with.

Count me in as well - I'm a little nervous that this workload combined with Math 120 and Chem 130 will do me in :p

Hey Guys, I thought I had posted the dissection of the cadaver up above, however it was a website to somewhere else......Sorry here is the correct site, it can be a little graphic, so be prepared and I would suggest not viewing this or the cat dissection in front of or around young children.

Me too. I have a similar courseload. Chem A&P and Algebra. I am determined to do well. I think I'll keep telling myself the semester is on 3 months or so.

thanks maria!!! would you happen to have the open site just for Anatomy for Marieb?

thanks maria!!! would you happen to have the open site just for Anatomy for Marieb?

Your welcome! To my knowledge, there is no 'just for Anatomy' site for any of the Marieb texts. I assume your wondering about that because you'll be taking an Anatomy-only class. I am too! I'll have to take an Physiology class after that.

My school just gave me the slimmed-down version of the big Marieb text (its called Essentials of Human Anatomy & Physiology), so I assume we'll just be leaving the physiology parts out and focusing on memorizing the body structures. Truth be told I'm pretty confused about it'll be taught (just Anatomy) because it all seems to go together, at least in the book it does  . So, there's no Anatomy-only site or book for Marieb texts. Good luck to us both and please let me know if you find out more about what an anatomy-only class is like! :)

P.S. Here is a great site I found posted on Allnurses. It focuses mainly on Anatomy:

A&P is this fall for me. I'm so excited to review these websites!! woo hoo :D

I wonder if it would be possible to get together with a group of students and sign up for that 3D anatomy site. It is way too expensive for a student.

In my school we will be using the following book: Human Anatomy/w Atlas by Marieb.. I looked at Pearson's website and I guess they provide a study guide like the open link you provided Maria but it cost $35. But in the meantime I click on ebook option for Marieb's Anatomy book which give a preview of different sections
