Several had mentioned starting a study thread early so we could get prepared for our fall A&P class, so here goes. I have gathered several websites from both here and on my own, so wanted to post them early on so that we wouldn't have to search for them. Please feel free to add to them and also any advice or study tactics that seem to work for you.
Thankyou to Eveyone here at AllNurses who have provided so much information in one spot.

Body Cavities

Ok, that's it for tonight....I have several others but hopefully this will keep everyone busy for a day or 2 :chuckle:yeah:I'm sure we all have diferent study habits and will need to find our own way there but I am hoping we can work together as a study team.
Maybe each day or two, someone could provide a study tip or an mneumonics for memorization for tissues or nerves, anything that is helping you learn. Or if you come accross somethin that you can't use, maybe someone else can.
OFF to Bed for me
I have the Netter's as well....sorry, not much help there. Let me get you a website that has lots of good information. Here it is...there is a ton of info here. Maybe you can find something that helps
http://www.indiana.edu/~anat215/index.html The site below is also from there.
Posh, here's one for you that might help w/tissues.

Count me in for this club....I start the 3rd week of Sept. Had A & P in scrub school and didn't think it was that hard, but have a feeling that this is going to be a lot more in-depth. Fortunately, it's always interesting to learn about the body! Good luck to all this quarter......
What club?
Hey everyone, haven't been on here in a while! Hope everyone is doing well!!! Well Fri is my first test, it's over chapters 1, 2 and 3! (Basic Anatomy & Physiology, Chemistry and Cell Structure) I feel good about chapters 1 and 2! But she hasn't gone over chapter 3 yet and tomorrow is our last day of lecture before the test! I have NO idea how she expects to cover 50 pages of material in 50 minutes lol! I guess it will end up being one of those things where you will have to teach yourself!
Well this past friday I was upset because I wanted to check out the bones from our library since I have a 3 hr break before I had to go into work! Well turns out all the sets had been checked out! I am so frustrated, I have no idea how I am supposed to learn the bones and all the indentations for my lab test on the 15th if they are never avaliable to look at!!! :angryfire I mean I guess I could look at the book and study that way but the test in lab isn't going to be labeling! She's going to have the bones laying out on the table with #'s and you have to identify what's what on the actual bone! Pictures don't give that much detail, I think it's alot easier to hold it and see it in person!
Someone on this thread or maybe another one said they found a set of bones at big lots! Did anyone have any luck finding them?! I went tonight and they had nothing!
Sry guys just had to vent a little bit, just frustrated but I really want to learn and do well but it just sucks when you have limited resources! Hope all of you are doing well in your class!
Well, I have to let you all know I had an emotional breakdown literally last night. I studied all weekend for our quiz on last night. My class was quizzing each other, got all the answers right. When it came time to start the quiz. My brain went completely blank. I kept changing and rechanging my answers totally confusing myself. Needless to say I flunked my first quiz. I cried like a baby because I knew the stuff. My lab partner was so comforting. How do I overcome this? What could I have done differently to prevent the meltdown? That was easy stuff, we started tissues last night. I can not have this happen again. Any advice, prayer, anything to help.....
We had a practical quiz in lab yesterday on bones. Wow, is it ever intimidating. I think I did okay, except for writing coronal instead of coronoid .
I think every bone name and feature I knew was going off in my head at once. It was like:hpygrp: , and each one was going, "pick me, pick me", and I'm all like, "No way, Sphenoid, you're not even near the ulna."
I'm going to have to work on chilling out before the BIG test in October.
whoneedsashot, yeah i didn't think about doing that! i thought about maybe going to party city they always have tons of halloween stuff so hopefully i will be able to find some bones!!!
well today my teacher went over ch.3 (cell structure) and didn't finish it so she said the test would only be over the stuff she covered!!! so i'm a lil relieved that she's not going to make us learn it on our own!!! keep me in your prayers guys, i am really shooting for an a! i have studied my you know what off for the past 3 weeks, hopefuly it will pay off!!!
american beauty, i can sort of relate with you! i always obsess over studying and try to get to the point where i know the info like the back of my hand. but then when the times comes to take the test/quiz i go completely blank! i just sit there, try to calm myself, say a little prayer and then start the test/quiz! also i have heard plenty of teacher says always go with your first instinct, don't change your answers because usually your first answer was the right one! i have my first test coming up on fri, so hopefully i will do well!!!!
wish me luck you guys!!!!! i'm gonna need it! lol!

I am looking at the Netters one but it is anatomy only.
do you have a different set? Do you have any that is physiology as well?
