American River College Fall 2016

Published

Hello everyone! Thought I'd start a thread for everyone who is also applying to American River College for Fall 2016. We can help each other stay updated with any news, I know it definitely helps me through this long waiting period! We can also share knowledge if anyone has any questions about the application process! Good luck to all :)

Hi! I finished my pre-reqs in the fall and this is my first time applying also. I have applied to ARC, SCC and Sierra. I am on the fence about San Joaquin Delta. I cannot apply to CSU until I take statistics, which hopefully I will take this fall (unless I get into nursing school). I hope to "meet" all of you and I am excited to see what the future brings for all of us.

Hi guys! First I want to wish each of you good luck on getting into the programs you applied to. It's my first time applying at ARC and Sierra. I look forward to hearing all the tips/info and news as it comes in.

Has anyone's application status changed?

As of 3-4-16- mine just says "Application Received".

If i remember correctly, it took them about 4 weeks to change my status to qualified. I am thinking last week in april emails will go out. April 28th last year is when we got ours.

Got my application qualified today 😆

Of course it's not surprise, since it's my second time around, but it still makes me happy :))

Yeah, app qualified earlier today also; now comes the long wait and wrecked nerves.

This is my first time applying. My application still says "received." [emoji53] should I be worried?

That is exciting news Daryap & Advent Murse!! I am crossing my fingers for you guys!! and Alina14, not to worry, it may take a few weeks fro them to go through the applications!

My application to ARC is also still "Received", but I applied for SPRING2016, and my application had been qualified. So we should be waiting until end of April for emails regarding admission?

:sarcastic:

As far as SCC is concerned, I messed up so badly... I had been focusing all my attention last year to getting into CSU Sac's BSN Program, and didn't realize until last month (application period) that SCC requires a different Communications class then CSUS. I was so shocked. That means 2 application periods were wasted, and I'm 15-20 minutes away from SCC (I live in Elk Grove). I'm hoping to get into ARC, Sierra College or Delta College.

:banghead:

The problem with my Sierra application is that my GPA is 0.01 shy of qualifying according to the Chancellor's formula. I had to write a letter pleading my case, because my cumulative GPA calculation was unbelievable. I calculated 3.194 as my GPA, when I need 3.2 to qualify. All I can do is wait and see what terrible surprises await me.

I wish I could be more excited about Nursing School, but am finding a hard time staying optimistic.

What a real bummer with Sac City changing the requirements:banghead: I would give it time. The secretary can only do so much in one day... so don't panic!! I know that every semester the dates change slightly as to when they select the classes and send out admission emails. Last year, SCC sent theirs out April 14th....Then ARC sent theirs out April 28th..... so I can only assume that admission emails will be sent out for you guys in that same general time frame. I didn't apply to sierra, so i don't know how they work. Best of Luck to you, but don't panic!!!

My status changed to qualified yesterday also! Crossing my fingers. I know it's a long shot but I remain hopeful. I turned in my application to ARC the second week after the opening date, and I was amongst the first 5 to turn in my documents and sign in at SCC and I haven't heard from them yet! ARC sure is faster!
