Anyone applying for Fall 2015 want to share info? Aka share nervous concerns until we find out in a few weeks? ;-p
Hello :) I am also a 7th-time applicant to the nursing programs in the area, and am waiting on ARC to send out the e-mails to finally know if I made it this time around. This is one of the hardest things to go through emotionally. It's great to speak to others going through the same things :)
What is the typical cohort size for ARC and SCC?
When I started back in Fall '11, the "standard" cohort size was about 30. This allowed for two things: 10 people per clinical group and for a few people to drop out which usually brought the cohort size going into 2nd semester down to around 26-28, thus opening up a few spots for some people to be rolled into another class after a fail. My 2nd year, we had 33 going into 3rd (rare) and 10 people that passed out of the "Career Mobility" course into 2nd year so we had a large cohort of 43 for a while. I think we lost a couple people between start of the year and graduation, so we ended up with 40, I think. It was quite a large cohort at the end.
By the way, that was at SCC, and quite a rare event for us to have a cohort that large. Normally only about 6 or so pass the transition course so the cohort isn't larger than about 36.
This wait really is crazy. I think if they had sent out emails someone would of told us on here.
Cheer up Elizabeth, remember all your worrying won't help and will change nothing, it only brings you down. What I do is try to keep busy, spend time with your kidlets. :) When those thoughts and worries come, I pray and leave it in God's hands. I'm feeling a lot better, waiting for SCC's email was a different story. I have only checked maybe 2-3 times a day the last week. LOL I call that an accomplishment!

We are already planning the orientation for the new student for 5/15 :) I've heard there may be 43 students...
