American River College fall 2018 hopefuls

Published

I didn't see a thread for this semester, so I started one. I'm applying now. Taking the TEAS in a couple of weeks and submitting everything right after. It's my first time applying. I am really nervous! I am honestly not gonna get my hopes up because I know people going on their 5th time applying, so that's a little demoralizing. I am considering Sac City and USF Sac campus as well, but I would rather not graduate with a ton of debt from a private school.

How is everybody doing?

What kind of classes do you need to take for the merger? Are they general ed classes that you can transfer so hypothetically if you already had them all done you only would be required to do the 6 residency courses?

How do they decide who gets to do the merger if more than 15 students want to?

Those 6 units in the summer are upper division (human development and cultural anthropology). They aren't the lower division you take at the community college level. If you have already taken them, you don't need to retake them. Those are just the residency ones. Starting 4th semester is when you take the actual nursing classes.

The 3 schools are different in regards to who gets in. For Sierra, it was random draw but you have to maintain a B throughout the entire program. However, not all 40 people want to do it.

Curious why your not applying to sac state with that gpa

Sac state requires stats, and a higher level English class, plus some other little prereqs. I have a 4.0 and got a 94 on the TEAS and still can't apply because I'm missing a couple classs they require. But, I'm taking them this semester so I can apply there in the future if I don't get into the CC's for the fall.

Same here...but my TEAS wasn't that high...im working on entering CC first while I wait I'm taking classes for sac state

Tomorrow is that last day to turn in apps wonder how many people will be applying

Yeah sac state was kind of an afterthought for me. I have kids and would rather not spend a ton of money on a degree I can get for less than half at a CC, but I'm already getting anxious waiting so I will stack my deck as much as I can!

I turned in my application the 28th at noon and I was number 250 or something like that. I'm sure a bunch of people waited till last minute and tuned it in that evening so I'm gonna guess like 300...

Wow that's a lot of applicants

Wonder if they all have above 70 points

I was in the 160s when I turned mine in on 2/26 around 11 am so if you were 250 on 2/28 I'd guess a lot of people waited until the last minute.

Based on the previous years statistic it looks like about half of the applicants have over 70 points.

I think they all have 70 pts because your mo aloud to apply without 70 unless ppl can't count their points
