Am I the only one??

:( When applying for an ADN program in the spring, I knew that I didn't have what it took to be accepted for the class that begins in the fall, BUT......

When I got the letter today, like I KNEW would happen, they indeed said that I did not have enough points to meet this year's criteria. Well......

Even though I knew what it was going to say, I still just cried. I couldn't even type anything on the "LETTER" thread earlier today.

Anyway...... I'm sure that I will be accepted next time around, but it still doesn't make me feel any better knowing this.

Thank you for being here!

Thank you all for the words. Hopefully the time will pass quickly while I wait to apply again next year. Any suggestions as to what I could be doing between now and then?

Why are you sad? You stated that you knew before applying that you didn't have the requirements, so why set yourself up for a fall?

:trout:

I don't think that this is the kind of encouragement they were looking for.

so sorry this happened to you bpo. :o i'm starting to get a bit nervous myself. though i have been formally accepted the school at which i plan to attend nursing classes i still have to be formally accepted to the program itself and i'm already biting my nails!! don't give up and don't let anyone tell you that you can't do it!!

I too was declined for the fall 06 program, but am going to apply for the spring program at Madison, IN Ivy Tech. I think I will get in this time around. Not being able to count just a couple prerequisites (or rather the points from) can really hurt your chances. I was missing 3 classes when I applied for the fall program, but will be done with all by the time I have to apply for the spring program. Hang in there... at least you know you won't be waiting alone. And yes I cried too...:o

I understand the disappointment. I finished my pre'reqs last semester and applied for the Fall 2006 program. I knew I would get denied because of all the applicants who finished their pre'reqs before me, but it sorta stung when I actually got the letter. Even worse, they sent the denial by certified mail, so I had my hopes up when I went to the post office. I figured why would they spend $5/each to send denial letters -- so I figured it was an acceptance letter. Well, I was a little surprised and disappointed when I opened the letter up! :)

Hey Patty, sorry to hear your news. All you can do is keep trying. Did your letter possibly tell you where you were lacking points? You can always find a way to re-take a class, even with the TX law about 2x, may have to check out of state on-line classes. But TX does allow you to re-take a class more than 2x, you just need to make arrangements to pay out of state tuition, that's just for the subsidized price, maybe check with a private school. You'll get there. If it helps, I heard the gossip that our local community college accepted 13/16 points for the upcoming class.

It just gets so frustrating! But the classes get easier the more you take them! Trust me, this last time in A&P was the 3rd!:biere:
