last semester the average GPA last semester was 3.58.

I was on the waiting list and I had a 3.56 and a 92 on the HESI. I didn't have my Micro. I went from a 22 to 5 on the waiting list.

Oh nice. Yeah, I read on the previous posts that you got pretty high up on the waitlist. Do you get extra points for applying again for a new cycle?

Other than WGU, this is the only other program I’m currently applying to. WGU is kind of up in the air, since there are multiple start dates throughout the year and I have to finish the rest of my prerequisites. If I don’t get into this program, it’ll probably be WGU for me since I am growing very impatient and I’d rather just start a program already. Rather than having to apply again and again for a chance to get into one of these other extremely competitive programs. Potentially considering Chamberlain, but I am more nervous about them as their tuition is expensive.

I know someone who used to attend . She told me that you have to be able to self motivate the whole time because no one is really pushing you unlike traditional programs. It also depends on the mentor you get assigned to. I was also thinking of wgu but changed my mind. I’ve heard good this about chamberlain but I agree that their tuition is really expensive.

Nope, I only got a few extra points for not repeating any classes.

I have a page on facebook that's geared towards helping my peers make through prerequisites and nursing school. I give away pdf textbooks and test banks etc. Study guides etc. If you'd like an invite just send your facebook name and ill get you in.. I promise it is totally worth it.

Did your friend graduate from the program? What made you change your mind? Last year, I did a campus tour at Chamberlain’s pearland campus. The advisor I saw told me that if you transfer in credits, it reduces the price by A LOT.

How does alvin compute the GPA? Is it just the 4 required pre-reqs or does it also include micro, lifespan and elective?

No, any classes you've taken that's part of their curriculum is where they take your GPA from.

No. My friend was dismissed from the prog. She said the program was kinda disorganized and a lot of people are failing out. It’s a new program, I think, so I guess there is still a lot of room for improvement. I chose ADN mainly because of the cost.

Your reading was 92 (or was that the compre?) and you were still on the waitlist? WOW!. They sure really are selective.

Dang. I hadn't heard anything about people failing out from the program. The only thing I don't like about the program (other than the disconnection due to not in-person classes, is the pass/fail system. You get a 3.0 on your transcript. It makes it difficult if someone is interested in pursuing graduate study, like to become a CRNA or something.

There are plenty of ADN programs, and many of them are highly competitive. Have you considering applying to San Jac or COM? It's only a matter of time before ACC requires students have a minimum of 80% on each section of the HESI or they won't be eligible to apply. That'll eliminate more of the applications they have to go through. I wonder if some people are automatically screened; like if they don't meet a cut-off, they don't even review their application. I'm not even going to mention the BSN programs, especially the accelerated ones LOL.

Never knew about the pass/fail & 3.0 GPA but yes you are right, with that GPA it will be tough to get in to grad school if you plan on doing that. I guess online learning works for some people but I am not sure if it is for me.

I also applied to COM and I’m applying to HCC after I take the critical thinking section of HESI (I don’t even know what to study for it). I don’t think I’ll have enough time to apply at San Jac - I have not submitted my transcripts to them yet.
