Thinking about applying to ACC for Fall 2020. I honestly am not sure of my chances but I guess it doesn't hurt to try. Do you guys know whether they calculate the GPA of just the prerequisites alone or do they also average out the ones you can take that are a part of the curriculum? (micro, lifespan, creative arts etc)?

yes, just prerequisites GPA. You do get credit for anything you've already taken that's part of their curriculum.

Okay, cool. If I can't manage to get into ACC (likely) then I'll probably continue on with WGU's program. I don't want to waste much more time, and I'm losing patience. Programs are already so competitive to get into and they're honestly becoming more competitive.
Did any of you guys go to the information session that took place on the 3rd? Are you guys applying to any other schools?

I attended the info session on the 3rd. I also applied to college of the mainland and I’m thinking of applying to HCC but I have yet to take the critical thinking portion of the HESI. I might take it next week. How about you?

Other than WGU, this is the only other program I’m currently applying to. WGU is kind of up in the air, since there are multiple start dates throughout the year and I have to finish the rest of my prerequisites. If I don’t get into this program, it’ll probably be WGU for me since I am growing very impatient and I’d rather just start a program already. Rather than having to apply again and again for a chance to get into one of these other extremely competitive programs. Potentially considering Chamberlain, but I am more nervous about them as their tuition is expensive.

Well, whats your GPA & HESI scores? I was thinking HCC also but I refuse to take the HESI again. The TEAS was a struggle. Good luck.

I believe my GPA is around a 3.26, HESI 82.3%. I got a 96 in the reading section. I only have to take A&P II and the laboratory portion of Microbiology from the prerequisites that ACC requires. I was told I would also get "bonus points" for pharmacy technician certification. I have an associate's degree, and I'm almost finished with my bachelor's degree. I feel like my stats place me somewhere in the middle, hopefully good enough to get onto the waitlist. I hear they accept quite a few people from the waitlist.
And you're right, the TEAS was a struggle. My situation was very frustrating, as I studied a good amount and messed up due to my nerves (and drinking an energy drink/protein shake) the first time. Never again. Then the second time, I got dealt a whole different set a questions in the science section and got a much lower score than the first time. I only had one question that was similar. My scores just weren't balanced, after reviewing both tests. I've never been the best standardized test taker. I really don't want to retake either of these tests, but I'm still considering it because I know it'll give me better chances.
