Alvin Community College (ACC) Fall 2024

Published

Anyone applying to ACC Alvin for Fall 2024? I didn't see a post for it so thought I'd start one. I believe we find out sometime in May. I was actually in Alvin once before a few years ago but I had to withdraw because of some life stuff. I'm currently going to a private school but I'd much prefer to go back to Alvin since I know it's a great program and much cheaper for me.

Hello! Thank you for making this post! I applied as well, I wish you the best on your application (: We've got this!

You too! I'm surprised there isn't one made already. I wonder if less people applied this year. Which could work to both of our advantage, haha. I know some people post on facebook but I haven't used that in years. Did you apply to any other schools?

Even though a good amount of students might frequent allnurses to look for applicant info/stats, it isn't a good representation of the applicant pool so you never know I guess. It's different every semester. I can't remember if more people apply for the Spring or the fall. I didn't apply to other schools. I'm currently at a private school. However, I'm not enrolled right now and basically on a break. It's way more expensive compared to a school like Alvin so I'd much rather go there instead. It would definitely remove the financial stress of paying for school, since I'm paying out of pocket.

If not, I'll most likely stick with the private program and struggle it out, haha.

Oh yes so true! Not everyone may share their stats or comment etc, which is completely understandable-so that's true. Oh yeah, thank goodness there are Fall and Spring application cycles especially if more people apply for either the Fall or Spring! Ooo I'm pretty similar then, I was at a private school but so true, it definitely is a lot more expensive so Alvin is a great program and definitely more affordable especially if you're paying out of pocket like you mentioned!

LOL I felt that, understandable haha!

Oh you were at a private school? When did you leave and far along did you get? Which school was it, if you don't mind me asking?

Yes I was, I don't mind! I was at a private university in Houston (HBU)! I left a little over a year ago, and took all of the classes required for their program! What about you?

Oh yeah, I forget that HBU is a private school. I'm at Galen College of Nursing. I finished all the requirements as well and would be moving onto the nursing core classes next. Last quarter I did was in Dec. I was supposed to go back this month but I found out I could re-apply to Alvin and have the chance of being re-admitted. My test scores expire this year so I just decided to try. All I did was resubmit everything; hardly any work on my part.

Haha yes so true HBU is a private school, but Galen College of Nursing is a great program as well! That's awesome you completed all of your pre-requisites especially recently in December. I see, that's great you're able to re-apply to Alvin and did not have to do a lot for the application process which is awesome and not having to retake the TEAS either!

Haha, thanks! Squirtle is pretty cute. And yeah, I'm already technically in a program. All that retaking tests/classes wastes so much time; not to mention the applying and waiting/getting put on waitlists. I rather stick with the one I'm in if I can't go back to Alvin. I've been working towards nursing since 2019 so I'm ready to get past school part and get to work already.

No problem!! Yes, Squirtle is cute OMG! Oh I see, that makes sense and so true with taking/retaking classes if you do not have to! Staying with one choice for a program is a great idea just in case-I can understand wanting to start nursing school especially at Alvin this Fall and start working as a nurse too!
