Alverno College Direct Entry into Nursing (DEMSN) 2022 Arizona

Hello!

Has anyone applied to the Mesa location DEMSN program with Alverno? Looks like a brand new program in AZ. I'm currently waiting to see if I got accepted, but wanted to see if anyone else has already gone through the process, learned of where clinical rotations in the program could be at, etc.

I applied on 2/24 so you had about 3weeks and you got a decision?

I still need to officially apply, but I was told verbally that I will be accepted based off of all I told them about my GPA and past education, etc. I still have to take prerequisites. I am thinking of just taking them through Alverno for seamless transferring of the credits.  Anyone take their prereqs online with Alverno??

I took my A&P and micro prerequisites at Portage learning! It was self paced and it was pretty easy-going to me

Thanks for the info.. I’m pretty excited now. Are you currently in Arizona or will you be relocating ?

I’m in nevada so I’ll be moving! I’m excited about a new location though. The only down fall is arizona is more humid I hear LOL

I’ll be relocating from California for the duration of the program. And hope to start in the Spring 2023 cohort.

I am also in california so I willl be relocating as well. 
 

Arizona is hot but I feel like it is not as bad as people make it seem. My sister leaves in Tempe so I’ve been plenty of times but you will probably be fine from NV and AZ. Just lots of rain in Arizona

I currently live in Bakersfield so I’m used to ? hot-hot so I’ll just be going from hot-hot to hot-hot-hot! ?

I’ll be staying with family in Phoenix area and then maybe moving to Mesa (someone I know might be moving there for school too and we have plans to live together if that works out). 
 

although it’s all still a ways away, I’m excited for us all! 
 

for those of you who’ll be a cohort ahead, please keep us posted on how it goes! I’m mostly wanting to know about how the hybrid aspect will work. (I’m leaving kids and husband back in California to do this and I’ll be dying to do as much online from California as possible.)
