Alverno College Direct Entry into Nursing (DEMSN) 2022 Arizona

Updated:   Published

Hello!

Has anyone applied to the Mesa location DEMSN program with Alverno? Looks like a brand new program in AZ. I'm currently waiting to see if I got accepted, but wanted to see if anyone else has already gone through the process, learned of where clinical rotations in the program could be at, etc.

 @AZNurseBoy Unfortunately, I’m not able to answer your questions but I applied as well. When do you expect to hear back? Have you finished all of the prerequisites?

I’m planning to apply there. I’m just worried if their pass/fail grading system will be an issue to go on to an NP Program afterwards.

Have you found anything out about that? So far my searches are returning void. ?

Hello Everyone! I also applied to the program about a week ago. Has anyone heard back? I am curious to see their response times for admission.

Goodluck Everyone ?

I’m applying for fall and is nervous because there are so many mixed reviews that I seen. I just want to make sure this a right choice. Has anyone started the program for Spring if so how is it?

@Rhiannon Solorzano what do you mean there only a pass or fail. I thought they was grades? I’m going to have to ask my advisor that? Because now I’m worried.

@alemjay_  check with your advisor and follow up.

@miracle93,

yes, they’re a pass/fail program. I was told (since posting this) that they will create a GPE for grades if you need it for a nurse practitioner program.

@Rhiannon Solorzano

I just heard in the Alverno college group on facebook I messaged a young lady who is in the BSN program and she has friends in the DEMSN program told Me that the school is doing bad at that there passing rates is low.

her responses

It’s really hard and honestly not worth the money for how sucky their program got.

They’re on the verge of losing their accreditation because a lot of people who went there didn’t pass their NCLEX on the first try

They still have it currently There accreditation

But if this graduation class doesn’t get the score above 75% they will lose it and be on probation

They changed the curriculum when my program started and it sucked, possibly changing it back based on if they lose their accreditation or not

Honestly if I were you I’d try another school because if they do end up losing their accreditation it will suck.

@miracle93,

All I can find on the school’s NCLEX pass stats are 2019 scores found here: https://dsps.wi.gov/Documents/2018 RN Annual.pdf It has them at a 94% pass their first time. ??‍♀️

I apologize for the repeat post. I don’t know why it did that and I cannot see how to delete it. I tried to edit it, and it had a pop up message that led me to think it was already deleted and now I see it again and it won’t let me even try to edit/delete.

@miracle93

The link above doesn’t seem to work…let me try again: https://dsps.wi.gov/Documents/2019 RN Annual.pdf
