Published

So I have a SEP already set up by my counselor that I see during the semester. This Spring 15 I'm registered to take English 1A (English Composition), Math 3 (Intermediate Algebra), Chemistry for Health Sciences 30 w/ Lab

Summer 15

Communications (Intro to Speech Comm)

History **I'm not sure if I really need this to complete my CSU GE**

Fall 15

Anatomy

Physiology

Math 44 (Elementary Statistics)

Spanish 1 (Beginning Spanish) **I'm a spanish speaker so this is gonna be super easy I just need to fulfill my CSU GE**

Spring 16

Microbiology

HS (CNA) **this class is required if i decide to stay in college nursing program*

English 1B (Critical Thinking & Composition)

Sociology (Introduction to Sociology)

anyways, my question is .. should I take Sociology next Spring 15 along with English, Math and Chemistry?? OR Just keep it with Spring 16.?? I feel that I'll be taking SOOOO many classes during Spring 16 and I got a feeling I'm gonna be overwhelmed on just thinking about Microbiology and HS (CNA) together and since HS (CNA) has some clinicals

Thank You!! =)

Why don't you take something over the winter semester?

our winter semester is "Fall" the college i'm attending we have 3 semesters a year which is Spring (Jan-May) Summer (June-July) Fall (August-Dec)

Your course load does not seem particularly heavy. The first semester of nursing school is relatively intense. My school had 19-21 credits for j1. Just remember most general education classes are pretty easy. Classes with labs tend to be a bit more challenging.

Sociology was too bad for me so for fall sem I took chem, stats, developmetal psych and sociology. I guess I just made sure I got the easy professors. It's up to you if you can handle all of it though.

Sociology and CNA classes are both pretty simple. Your schedule sounds doable no matter if you take it Spring 15 or 16. Is there an option to take it Summer semester?

Fall seems pretty intense to me but it depends on how prepared you feel. Many times counselors create the SEP hoping for the best possible outcomes without making it based on each individual. I would see how spring semester goes first. Don't overwhelm yourself with the need to finish within a certain semester if you need more study time with a particular class, especially with the nursing prereqs. Everyone is different though. If you aren't sure you need the history class, why don't you check if you can swap it for the statistics class. Math gives some people anxiety and communications is a relatively easy class as long as you actively participate.
