  1. Just wait for a storm and make sure you're the last boat standing and you can be a millionaire like forest gump
  2. Bipap vs cpap bipap is bi level positive airway pressure. Inspiration and expiration will cause the machine to switch from two pressure settings. This is to maintain airway and facilitate expiration. cpap is continuous airway pressure. Unlike bipap there is one continuous pressure for inspiration and expiration. Positive airway pressure is used is used to treat obstructive sleep apnea, central sleep apnea, in acute settings it can be used to decrease respiratory acidosis.
  3. Your course load does not seem particularly heavy. The first semester of nursing school is relatively intense. My school had 19-21 credits for j1. Just remember most general education classes are pretty easy. Classes with labs tend to be a bit more challenging.
  4. Since you already work for the system, why don't you contact the hiring manager? Before transferring within a system I have always contacted the hiring manager either via email or picked up a shift on his/her floor. This was much more effective than just applying for a job. Once you introduce yourself the manager can make his/her own determination of your character.
  5. You could look at methadone clinic effectiveness (how long does it take for pts to reach sobriety or get addicted to methadone) Compliance to treatment(chf pt non compliance to meds and read mission time) Effectiveness of phone follow up program to increase treatment compliance Family coping during acute hospitalization of loved one(what happens when breadwinner is incapacitated and how do they overcome/cope/collapse under increased stress. What can hospital assist with?)
  6. Every school will have different undergrad requirement. If the gpa isn't enough to convince the school to accept you then a GRE will probably be used to tip the scale. Most schools in my area will want at least a 3.2 cumulative or BSN GPA. I had a 3.56 cumulative for my undergrad and was accepted.
  7. Look into tuition reimbursement from your hospital because a free BSN would feel way better than a BSN that costs 20k.
  8. I completely agree with you. The grass will be greener where you water it.
  9. You have one license and should never feel the need to practice in an unsafe environment. Always remember nursing is a business your employer will always care more about the budget than they care about you. Start looking for jobs now. When references are requested, go to your charge RN or nurse educator. Getting the approval of the nurse manager before you jump ship would be of great benefit to you. I recommend submitting a resignation letter using ethos and pathos to garner support. Explain your desire to diversify your experience and go from there. Good luck with the job search. Less than a year will put you in the new nurse category so waiting to one year may improve chances of finding a job.
