I study as I go and then end up cramming. It always seems like I just start to get the info the day before the test and finally figure out the best way to get it in my head to stay there.

Me, too, Tooty. And I retain it very well.

Congratulations, Sarah! Way to go! Everyone learns different. I go to school with one woman who only has to hear it once, and it sticks! She's a straight A student! Wish my brain were that absorbant!

Finished my last final today. Now a whole month off! Woohoo!! Hardly know what to do with myself! :D

I'm in my fourth year of school and I know what those long nights are like. In a perfect world there would be enough time to work, go to school and study. But in reality my program takes up approxmately 30 hrs a week plus working part time there never is enough time to study for exams...ever so cram away...............

good luck

I remember staying up all night, through trial and error I finally realized that I could stay up so long as I got 4h sleep after studying so the knowledge would "stick". It seemed like I got an extra 10 points per test that way and didn't feel sick afterwards.

right on, cramming is not the way for the long run, but I did sit in car before a board cert I took last summer & found the answer to a question on the test in that period I had previously overlooked. so the extra 30 mins did score me another one right! I had, however, been studying for 4 months before the exam (BCCVN).

GOOD FOR YOU! way to go

I have to admit I never crammed. Ever. Used to go to bed, sleeping a good 7-8 hours, ate a good light breakfast and went in well-rested and well-fed. Got straight A's that way.

Cramming does not work for me. But hey, each has his/her method eh?:D

I have never stayed up past midnight studying. I'd much rather go to sleep. I do cram a bit, but mainly the day of the test to pull it all together. I generally start preparing for an exam 1-2 days beforehand, and perhaps 3 if I have the time.

Congrats on doing well!

hee hee... guess what I'M doing as we speak... pathophysiology final in the morning... if I don't know how hypoxia affects near every system in the body by now, it will soon be drilled into my brain permanently!

aaaaahhhhhh.......

(have to say, cramming does work for me for passing tests, but often blank out on the material later, but in this fast paced program sometimes there is no time to do anything else... i did start a few days ago for this one!!!)

See you all later... :zzzzz

cramming works quite well for me actually.

I work part-time while in school, and recently had my A&P midterm.

I worked at my job way TOO much, and left little time to study. So the night before the test, I brewed 2 cups of coffee (yes, I drank both of them) and didn't go to sleep that night. I stayed up, drank coffee, and crammed like I've never crammed before. I read, reread and rereread information, whic I started doing at 5pm and finally finished at 8am

I went to school, wrote my test, and collapsed into my bed exhausted. I just found out I scored an 87% on my test!! :D

Even though cramming 'can' work, it's not worth it. I have cut my hours at work, and have dedicated a LOT more time to study. Now I study a chapter each night, everynight, so by the time the final comes around, I'll know everything like the back of my damn hand!
