Hi everyone! I decided to start this thread in hopes of seeing if there is anyone excited about applying to the fscj RN program spring 2013. I am currently taking a microbiology class this summer. I would have applied for fall 2012 but met with some technical difficulties. I have 206 in total points w/o micro. Let's stay in touch and keep this ball rolling!
Agreed!! I'm taking my CPR tonight & turning in my application tomorrow =) I can't wait to find out. I will be applying with a 206...hopefully that'll be enough. I did see last year they didn't find out until December but the fall applicant found out a lot sooner this year. It says 6-8 weeks, the deadline was June 1 and they all found out by the first week in July =) Hope we all get a speedy answer as well. Good luck to everyone applying!
Thank you so much for the info.there are lots of places you can do this. read earlier posts there was someone talking about this. Or you can just take it at FSCJ go to connections, my classes tab, search and register for class HED0300 it is taught at north campus, the instructor is very good, right now they have several spots available. You get your BLS/CPR card same day, valid 2 years.
Anyone take the TEAS V? How do you think it is compared to NAT?
I took the Teas V its harder than the NAT. TEA V had more chemistry, anatomy, medical terms, just more stuff pertaining to nursing in the science part. The English and reading sections are about same level, TEAS just makes you think more. The TEAS math was harder lots of LONG division and multiplication but enough time to do them. TEAS did not have a specific spelling section like the NAT, just a few words maybe. In my opinion anyone with basic prereq done can pass the NAT, but the TEAS needs extra study from the ATI Book or McGrawHill TEAS tests. I took the TEAS twice, second time I scored lower from 84% to 76% even though I studied more. Overall the TEAS is a thinking/analysis test, the NAT is a speed thinking of the top of your head test.
Thanks man-nurse2b. I am trying to decided if I should even bother taking the TEAS. I'm wondering if I should just take it and see how I do? If I have a competitive score then I will have some real decisions to make. Last year for the accelerated program at UNF you needed a 330 to get an interview (I think that's like an 82%). I have a competitive GPA (They say 3.7 to 3.8). It just means more money to spend. I have to apply to UNF and then take the TEAS, which is like another 60 dollars.
Same thing when I turned mine in. I asked someone else in the office about it and they assured me that it would be put in with my application. Good news is that you have your own copy so you know you turned it in--so if there's anything fishy going on in 6-8 weeks, that's your insurance. When I dropped off my CPR cert. the lady at the desk just said "okay, I'll put it with your application" in a rude sort of way. Am I being paranoid to think it didn't make it? I want to call and make sure but I don't want to sound dumb asking if my application is complete :/
Hey everyone! Glad I found this thread. I just finished the Massage Therapy program at FSCJ, and was planning on starting the BSN program at JU this fall but it turned out to be way too expensive. I declined their offer and am now applying for the spring term at FSCJ. I have a total of 112 points with my NAT, so let's hope that's satisfactory! Fingers crossed!

Thank you! I emailed Cheryl and got a response right away from her too. I'm sooo glad I found this out now. I am working on registering for a CPR class either this weekend or beginning of next week so I can submit my certificate. Thanks to this website, I found this out!!
