I just received my acceptance letter for Fall 2006 and am overjoyed, I think. Also, obviously, scared and hesitant. I am looking to connect with someone who has notes, info, a syllabus, advice etc. for NURS 1921. My goal is to get ahead of things if possible. Especially given everything I have heard and read. I would be willing to meet at a Kinko's (or something like it) to get copies of any information you may have.

Thanks so much.

That is a wonderful idea. I wish I would have thought of that; if you don't mind too much, I would love to be included. Which campus are you going to? I am going to the Clarkston campus. Congrats and God Bless.

Congratulations on you acceptance!!!:balloons: :balloons: :balloons:

You will receive a syllabus a few weeks before your classes start. You'll also have access to web CT - all the lecture notes and requirements should be there right from the start. Just enjoy the few months off you haver right now. If you have your fundamentals book you can start reading chapters 1, 2, 3, 24, 7, 8, 12, 22, 23, 11, 13, 14, and 15. Those chapters cover the first test. It's a LOT of reading. Don't push it take it easy over the summer you'll need all the strenght you can get.;)

Westheat,

I would be more than happy to include you or anyone else for that matter. I too will be at Clarkston. Based on everything I have been reading we should get a jump on this and we need to stick together and help each other through. Congrats to you as well.

Malarwen,

Thanks for the response and advice. Congrats on making it to your 3rd semester. That is quite an accomplishment. Hang in there. I am sure we will meet in the near future.

I graduated in '05, but I still have some notes from webCT. The reading assignments will be different due to different books, but the content is the same. PM me your email and I will help in any way I can.

Okay I am brand new; what are the books you are referring to? Thanks so much.

When I attended GPC we had a Med surg book by Mosby. Now GPC is using a Prentice Hall book.

I was looking for the books we will be using this semester. My thought was if there are people out there who knew they would not be returning to the program I could purchase their used books and begin studying now. I contacted the bookstore and they do not have the books in yet.

Here's a suggestion since they haven't given you a book list yet:

Get the Prentice hall Nursing Fundamentals Reviews and RAtionales Book. This will help you. I used the med surg one 2nd and 4th sem. a LOT.

You can get these at any Barnes and Noble, etc.

I have also been checking amazon.com and half.com. They have had most books and Amazom offers a discount for some of the books being bought together. If you need the ISBNs for some of them, I have them, just send me a note. Some of the books though I have not been able to find.

Okay....Nurses....What is a professional nursing journal???? Thank you in advance for you help.
