I would like to know if these pumps are giving troubles or these are the perfect help for nurses.

We use these pumps at the hospital I work for, and they absolutely SUCK. I swear, the alarm beeps more than they infuse. The smallest, most minute air bubble will cause it to alarm.

Ditto that. I swear I hear pumps beeping in my sleep! The other problem I've found is that the list of meds programmed is not extensive enough. They drill it in you head not to do a basic infusion but we have to quite often.

We use the Alaris,..they are only as good as the person that programs them. I was on the committee to help program and do the training when we first started using the pumps several years ago. We found many flaws and mistakes in the begining (ie mcg instead of mg) but over time we've gotten most of the kinks worked out. They are better than the last pumps we had.

We started using them a few months ago, and so far, I really like them and I have not seen too many problems. About the "beeping" many posters have mentioned- I have noticed that it does beep "air in tubing" ALOT when using secondary infusion- we rarely use this feature as our meds are usually on the syringe pump attachment. I wonder if there is a trick to keeping air out with the secondary feature?

I prefer Alaris to Hospira by far.
