Air Force FY2016

Specialties Government

Hi! This will be my second time applying as a NICU RN for the Air Force. I'm applying to the September boards. It would be great to hear from anyone applying to these boards as well! I posted a different thread a while back about this same thing, but it got no responses. Figured i would try again!

:)

I was told there were 19 slots, though I have no idea how many have applied. I was told only 3 from my region including myself but that doesn't mean a whole lot. When I had my specialty interview the colonel I spoke with said they were incredibly short on critical care nurses and she hoped they select a lot. I don't know if that means they will have even more slots or if 19 is considered a lot.

Sounds like you have a very good chance getting selected. Compared to the other specialties (minus med surg) that is a lot of slots

My recruiter told me that I would know by October 17. Hope this helps.

Does anyone know about how many applied for clinical nurse?

Has anyone heard anything from their recruiter?

I talked to my recruiter today. Just said the board met last week and he hadn't heard anything.

I heard from mine on Friday that they were still meeting and the projected date was Oct 19. Convenient since that is the last day to notify.

Yea I was told by my recruiter that the estimated release date is October 19th

If anybody hears anything can you please post an update? The anticipation is eating me alive lol. Also does anyone know what the flight physical entails?

good luck everyone

My recruiter called me today and the board results are out! I was selected as a NICU nurse. Didn't get my COT date or my base yet, but he said that should be out next week! Anxious to hear everyone else's results! Good luck!
