I ordered the last of the books that were listed for the first semester nursing classes (fundamentals and pharmacology) on Amazon yesterday, along with a stethoscope and bandage scissors. Then I added everything up, and the total comes up to $341.37.

Now all that I need to buy is a pen light and my scrubs.

Hi all, i have been reading the blog thats started. Kinda feel like i know some of you now. I am really scared about getting in, and i see so far I am the oldest at 45, it seems crazy to start a different career this late in life, but I can honestly say l really really want this..keep going to the mailbox everyday....wanting it to come, but scared to death of what it will say! Jesykahope, I did attend Augusta Tech. I took all of my prerequisites there. I liked the school for the most part. I didn't mind the campus or the teachers. The only problem I had with them that I did not like was the financial aid. They were really slow and very seldom knew what they were doing. They love to give you the run around about everything and absolutely none of them are on the same page. I was very surprised when I went to Aiken Tech's enrollment center for the first time. They were very organized and professional with their check in system, etc. They always very polite and professional which is something I NEVER received at Augusta Tech as far as admission/financial aid things went. I'm excited about hopefully entering the nursing program at Aiken Tech because the school seems to have it together. (I could totally be wrong about this- but from my experiences with visits it seems pretty good). Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong :) LOL.

Ronenboo, glad you joined our thread! And don't worry about the age thing- its all about following your dreams and being happy! I wish you the best of luck! So how many points do you have and whats your GPA? And yeah, you're right- it does seem like we are getting to know each other as we all anxiously await those letters. :)

Nickh, ugh! 3 weeks? Although, it does seem like time is flying by, it saddens me to still hear 3 WEEKS! LOL. I think I may go crazy before the letters are even mailed/emailed.

Hi anxious,

i wont make 3 more weeks! I got 33 points and gpa is 3.84...very nervous about the points thing. But am keepin my fingers crossed for all of us!

Anxious2beanurse, I completely understand how you feel about Aiken...I was also shocked when I first visited the campus because of how put together and nice everyone was! I hope that if we are accepted we will not be disappointed and will enjoy the program!

I got a letter in the mail today from Aiken and I got excited thinking it would be THE letter....but then I remembered I recently submitted a transcript in and it was the letter verifying my courses have been transferred lol.

The wait is starting to kill me. Lol I emailed my advisor yesterday and asked her does she know how many apps were submitted. Hopefully she replies soon.

Doing okay here. Just trying to do everything possible to take my mind off of the wait. Omg Jesykahope, I would have died if I got a letter from Aiken Tech in the mail and it wasnt THE LETTER!!! Lol. Definately let us know what your advisor says to you when she responds. I think we are all just about to freak out right now... I personally am just trying to figure out pricing of books, supplies, etc. so that I can start putting money to the side over the next few weeks to purchase those if I get in. But I will not be purchasing them prior to getting my acceptance letter because my luck I wont get in and I will have to send them back! HAHA. Glad you are all doing good. Lets all just try and hang in here just a lil bit longer. :)

I go to the mailbox everyday......and everyday..nothing! I did talk to someone at aiken tech and they told me they heard the orientation for the nursing program has been scheduled for july 17...
