Aiken Tech Fall 2014 hopefuls!!

Has anyone applied for the ADN program at Aiken Tech? I know the deadline for applications isn't until May 30th but I have had my paperwork ready and submitted it today and the suspense is killing me ALREADY!! Just wanted to see if anyone else was waiting to get in and wanted to see how many points others had, their GPA and teas scores.

I am praying for the same! We all seem very dedicated so I know for a fact if we don't get in for fall we will get in spring and will make it! They say if you get a large envelope you have been accepted and if you just get a letter you are denied. It's gonna kill me opening the mailbox to see what I got. Lol

I have heard about the exact same thing, big envelope = good, small envelope = bad.

Someone told me that it was easier to get in Spring term. They also said that a lot of people drop themselves because the teachers are very intimidating. Has anyone looked at the grading scale for the Nursing program? It does seem pretty ruff but we can do it!

I have read other posts talking about how it's easier to get in for spring. I actually just looked up the syllabus to the classes today and it is very intimidating. It said the lowest grade you can make and pass is an 80. At some others schools you can pass with a 75.

I've heard the same thing about the spring semester. I think that's because the application deadline is before the end of the fall semester. The application deadline is September the 26th, and the fall semester ends on December 1st, they probably set it up this way to give everyone a better chance of getting in if they weren't accepted into nursing for the fall.

Yeah, B's are the lowest grade that we can make in our nursing classes, I've heard that but never seen it, thanks for looking that up Jesykahope, I never thought to look up the syllabus.

No problem! Time is actually going by kind of fast for me. Hopefully we will get something in the mail this time next month.

Hey you guys! Sorry I haven't been on here in a little while.. being keeping busy at my job since we just relocated :) happy to have something to help pass this time! I can't believe we are almost half way through June. And yes we all need to stick together and do whatever it takes to get thru this! Love that each of u have your own stories like mine that play a role in ur schooling such as kids, work, marriage, etc...thanks for sharing! it calms my nerves to know there r other people out there trying to accomplish the same goals with the same responsibilities that I have. How do you go and see the syllabus and stuff? Just asking because if I get accepted thus will be my first semester at Aiken Tech. Hope all is well with each of u! Just a little bit longer!! :)

Just filling you guys in. I went to the bookstore online and I was able to search for the books that are required for the first term. I ordered a cheap paperback copy of the fundamentals and pharmacology books. I ended up spending less than 30 bucks on both. I wanted t start reading ahead and studying in advance. The bookstores have the ISBN's and everything you need online.

Great suggestion cakers45, I looked up the books and have been buying them a fee at a time on Amazon, I've spent about $150 - $175, and I only have fundamentals and two others to buy, I forget which two, but I have them on my wish list. I'll probably have spent just a little over $200 altogether. The first semester is the most expensive for books.

I love Amazon.

Hi Anxious2beanurse, everything's going well here, just waiting. Time is flying by, it's been close to 2 weeks since the application deadline.

Anxious2beanurse, I just googled aiken tech syllabus and clicked the first link. From there you just choose the course name and it will pop up.

Didn't you say you went to August tech? If so how was it?! I was going to go there but every time I went to get more information no one could help me with anything! I had a headache every time I stepped foot there.
