Aiken Tech Fall 2014 hopefuls!!

U.S.A. South Carolina

Has anyone applied for the ADN program at Aiken Tech? I know the deadline for applications isn't until May 30th but I have had my paperwork ready and submitted it today and the suspense is killing me ALREADY!! Just wanted to see if anyone else was waiting to get in and wanted to see how many points others had, their GPA and teas scores.

So my advisor just called me and told me I haven't registered for fall yet. Are we supposed to register for nursing classes before we even know if we are accepted into the program?

I don't believe so, I know some people register for other classes just in case they aren't accepted. Considering that only a set number of people are accepted into nursing, there isn't any risk in waiting to be accepted before registering for nursing classes, no worries about it over filling.

You may want to register for any additional class, if you plan on taking one, such as public speaking, or your humanity course. I personally am just sticking with the nursing classes for the first semester.

Yeah I figured it out. She told me it was a general message sent to all students who haven't registered for fall. We are supposed to wait until we find out yes or no!

Cakers45, I'm not sure either what the cost is. Just kinda basing my expectations on precious threads like Nickh. So I didn't see where you had posted anything about your points and things but maybe I missed it. Did you apply for this Fall? If so, where do you stand in the points?

Jesykahope, I'm glad your advisor got all your questions answers. Just relax! We are on the right track and we are on the down hill slope lol. We have already made it through the pre-reqs and the deadline to apply has already come. Now we all just need to keep our time occupied for another month or a little more til we get our acceptance letters! :)

I only have 31 points. I am missing points for Micro. I really hope I make it. If I don't get in I am taking it in the fall, and I will re-apply. Good luck to you all.

Cakers45, good luck to you, too! I wish we could fast-forward to July so we could find out already!!

Oh well 31 points isn't so bad. Especially since u haven't taken micro yet. Hopefully, all will go well and I will be meeting you in July or August! Good luck to you!

I have a question for anyone you may know the answer. I have already taken micro, both a and P courses, humanities, and public speaking while at Augusta Tech. If I get into the nursing program at Aiken, do I just take the other classes for each semester that I haven't yet taken and have less of a workload each semester?

Yes, you'll only have to take the nursing classes, so you just have a lighter workload each semester.

I've taken both A&P's and Micro (Well, taking micro anyways), so I still have to fit in public speaking, humanities and psyc 203. I know that I'll take one or two of them next summer, and I'll probably just fit in public speaking whenever, as I've heard that it's a fairly easy class.

Great! Thanks Nickh! I thought it would be that way but I wanted to make sure. It sounds like you have it all figured out how you're gonna schedule your classes. Sounds like a good plan!

Jesykahope, im with u on the fast forwarding to July LOL.

Just out of curiosity. Do any of you know anybody who has recently gone through the nursing program at Aiken Tech and know how they do clinical there?

My friend's older brother graduated from Aiken last May and I don't know much, but I do know that they did clinicals in hospitals located in Augusta, too. I remember seeing him at university in his light brown aiken tech outfit. Lol

My wife has a friend that just graduated from the nursing program in the spring semester, she recently took her NCLEX (still waiting on the results). I'll have my wife ask her about the clinical rotation and let you all know as soon as she hears back.

Why I didn't think about this before is beyond me, too busy I guess.

I have a friend also that said they do Nursing Homes as well. They normally start one to two months into the first semester.
