Aiken Tech Fall 2014 hopefuls!!

Published

Has anyone applied for the ADN program at Aiken Tech? I know the deadline for applications isn't until May 30th but I have had my paperwork ready and submitted it today and the suspense is killing me ALREADY!! Just wanted to see if anyone else was waiting to get in and wanted to see how many points others had, their GPA and teas scores.

No problem Jesykahope I know exactly how you feel. I have a lil one as well and have to make sure I have arrangements for him because with my husband's work schedule at SRS it's impossible for him to take him to/from daycare.

OK, my high school had my immunization records and faxed them to my doctors office, I just left CVS where I had my first TB test injection. One more TB test, a Varicella and Hepatitis B titer (and possibly a Varicella vaccine) and my physical and then I'm all ready.

I also had my first tb today! Had my shot, TB, and blood drawn all in the same arm. Lol. I emailed and asked about the drug test and we are supposed to bring a copy of the email we received showing we paid the $133 and will receive info on where to do the drug test on orientation. I also emailed and registered for the CPR class on July 8.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot that I need a tetorifice booster too, uggh, so much to do still.

How's everyone doing with getting all the stuff done?

I'm signed up for CPR for Wednesday, I get my next TB test started next weekend, my physical is on the 16th. I have to order my Hepatitis B and Varicella titer, so far so good here I suppose.

Great! I am attending the CPR class tomorrow. I just have to get my second tb test done and then get documentation of everything. Were you given a paper with your tb test result on it or did they just write the result down on the form we have to turn in? I ended up getting it done at my doc office on Thursday and then going to university prompt care sat to have it read, but the nurse just wrote the result down. I'm hoping I can get some type of documentation of my result from my doctor.

They gave me documentation of the test, you may want to ask for it, it sounds like we need documentation for everything.

I went to Minute clinic at CVS for the TB test, it was $56 total for both visits ($28 each visit), way cheaper than the deductible on my insurance plan. I know that I am going to need a tetorifice booster and the seasonal flu shot, I'm hoping that my insurance will cover at least the tetorifice booster. Minute clinic was out of the seasonal flu shot and won't have any more until September, so I have to ask my doctor about that too. Worst case there is that I decline and sign a waiver, then get the flu shot when it's available. I plan on asking Aiken Tech about this just to make sure this will be ok, I'm going to do this today when I pick up a CPR book.

Yes, they are really strict about documentation for everything, but that's understandable.

I actually have have a current CPR card that doesn't expire until may of next year so I'm trying to figure out if I can just renew it or something instead of going to a six hour class.

Well, I just seen my immunization records from my high school today, and either they're incomplete or I never received my second MMR. And as I thought, I never received the Hepatitis B vaccine, or it wasn't listed, one of the 2. So, my records are no good to me.

So I just ordered the MMR, Varicella and Hepatitis B surface antigen titer test, I get to stop by Quest tomorrow, and hopefully I'll get the results by the end of the week.

So much stuff to do! I stopped by the school today and got to meet and talk to The administrative assistant. I'm hoping we all can get everything done on time because from what she was saying it seems like they never have everyone do everything on time each year.

It is a lot to do, I'm just hoping that my titers come back OK, if they all do then I'm all good. If not, then I hope that Aiken Techs OK with me being recently immunized, lol.

Have fun in your CPR class today Jesykahope.
