Ah, the unexplainable relief of passing the boards

I just found out this morning that I passed my boards!! I was so nervous because it hardly took an hour--first one in and first one to leave-- and the test cut me off at 75 questions! It feels good to finally be over and done with those. Now I can officially tell my friends that I might be too young to drink, but I can pass out those narcotics! It's good going to work and feeling confident that I know what I'm doing.

Congrats on passing! I passed a couple of weeks ago with 75 questions also. I had to chuckle a little when you said you could go into work feeling confident that you know what you're doing. Just because we passed boards doesn't mean we totally know what we are doing yet - we still have A LOT to learn! :)

Congrats to you! Yeah, that minimum question thing was really bothering me! Wasn't it getting to you?

Oh and I hear you about still so much to learn! A couple of weeks ago, a patient asked me to leave the room because I "looked to young" to take of her (I was still working as an aid and hadn't started orientation). Instead, the patient wanted the older aid, who, granted was old enough to be my mother but was still doing pre-reqs for the nursing program. I had already graduated. It broke my heart and I tried not taking it personally. I had done a lot of work and I had yet to show for it. I guess that was what I was thinking about when I said that.

I still feel that strange addiction and sense of something missing when I'm walking around with an *empty* bookbag. I feel as though I should still be studying...

I know what you mean. I passed my NCLEX-RN on July 5 - it felt like the weight was taken off my shoulders. Now I just need to find a job!

congratulations!!!! to you all for passing the boards. :yeah:

the hard part is over. ok now breathe!!:barf01:

*huge sigh* nothing like getting that lovely word "pass" show up on the computer screen!

Many congrats to you, but everytime I see a post about the NCLEX from you "younger nurses" (;)), I think about the dinosaur days when it was given twice a year nationwide and it took 12 weeks to get the results! And no cutting off at 75, we sat in a huge room for two solid days, 3-4 hours a session, getting writer's cramp!

congrats to all, I know the feeling of passing I also had 75 questions and freaked out I just knew I failed because I lacked the confidence to feel as if I passed with only 75. I couldn't eat or sleep for an entire day until i found out the truth.
