Ages of male nursing students?

Published

Of the 23 other students comprising the group that I entered nursing school with, three of them are men. The class that is graduating at the end of next week I believe has 1 male student, and as far as I know the class immediately behind mine has 1 as well. This is about 60 students (some classes have had students drop), with 6 of them being males; that's only 1 in 10.

So we know that male nurses are few and far between, but how old are we?

The 1 student in the class graduating next week is 28.

The 1 student in the class that entered the semester after mine is at least 30 (a second career-er I believe).

Of the 4 in my class, 2 are about 45, 1 is 40, and then there is me...21.

How old are you guys? How old when you started school?

Just curious.

I'm 35 and starting my program in Jan 2010. I am wondering how many men will be in my program.

how did know that I mean the the number of the men who would be in your class

I am somewhat of a recent grad, but I was 28 in my RN program, 27 when I was in LPN school. The guys in my classes were close to my age or older up to mid 40's.

I have no idea what you are trying to say!

In my LPN class there were 4 men including me out of 16 people. In my RN class there were 2 guys including myself out of 14 people. This was in Indiana though and also not in a major city.

I think my program has about 28 students and I will be surprised if more than 4-6 are men.

I'm 19 on my second year and always OD from estrogen for being the only male in class.:trout:

I'm 57 (2nd career, obviously). Just got my acceptances from Marymount and Georgetown for accelerated 2nd degree BSN programs starting in January 2010. If I go by the percentage of men in the group I interviewed with at Georgetown, there were about 35 people in the interview group that day, and of those, 5 were men. Everyone in this group already had a BS or BA, at least. Of the 5 guys I would estimate the ages as 22, 24, 27, 45 and 57.

25 y.o. here. Completing my final 2 years for traditional BSN. Out of the 130 students I believe there is about 21 males. Most younger than me. Maybe 2 or 3 older in their 30s.
