After ten agonizing days of torture....

Published

A simple envelope arrived with my license, certificate, and a welcoming letter from the State Board of Nurses.

I sure would like to have received an answer key along with rationales for those 75 questions that ripped a hole in my stomach though! I had heard countless people state that the questions rotate from harder to easier depending on your answer, but my test bank seemed to be stuck in 'off the wall' mode.

I can offer this advice based on my experience; If you prepared adequately, rested well the night before, arrived to test relaxed, then walked out feeling like someone beat you over the back with a baseball bat, then chances are that you passed. I know that people will tell you that you shouldn't worry and that they KNOW you passed etc, but if I passed after feeling like I did, then you will too.

In the days after my test, I looked up all the answers I could recall, and I took around 1500 more practice questions just to see if I really did loose the ability to reason through questions and I aced those tests. If you are in the boat I was in, try that and see what your results are; It does help a little. Not much, but a little.

yipppeee!! congratulations!!

Congratulations, Paul! :balloons: :balloons: :) I felt the same way when I took the NCLEX about the testing mode being stuck on "off the wall." I was embarassed because I was at the top of my class in nursing school, acing many a test along the way, and here I was stuck on the first question for a good five minutes! LOL After a half an hour went by and I was only at question 11, I figured I'd better kick it into high gear, because there was the possibility I could have 254 more questions to go. I was actually relieved when it shut down at 75 questions because I couldn't take it anymore! I thought if I had 190 more questions to go, I was gonna throw a fit. Good luck to you in your career!

I had been wondering about your test results because I noticed we took NCLEX on the same day. I am so happy for you!!! Congrats!!! I am still waiting for the results...my school didn't get our transcripts in yet. Our entire class is still waiting on results because the BRN won't release results until they receive final transcripts AGGHH! :angryfire Anyway- Best of luck to you! :) Kim
