After the fact I failed my NCLEX I got a call for a job interview

Published

Greetings everyone i have a situation. I recently took my nclex but failed :( but prior to taking the nclex i applied to a couple jobs and guess what ? After the fact i failed my nclex i got a call for a job interview. I went to the interview and was called in for a 2nd but after two interviews the manager never mentioned anything abt the license just my certificate and they also know that i am new grad. I was introduced to the staff members and i am getting the vibe that i may get hired. i am soooooooooo scared. What should i do ?

I thought you could only work as a GN until you sit for the NCLEX, if you pass, YAY! If not, your GN days are over. Therefore, the OP doesn't have that GN window anymore. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, please!!

Sounds exactly like how it was in PA when I was a GN/new RN

I think you can work as an aide.

You must tell them that you failed NCLEX, by not doing so, you may be committing fraud. If that is found to be the case, you may never have a license to practice as an RN.

Well thx for all the advise. i spoke to the manager and they are willing to work with me. I am hired so even if i have to work as an aide or another position so be it.

As long as you passed the proctor exam. I never took it! My school required that we "successfully complete the CNA class" b/4 we could apply to nursing school. I did not spend $200 on an exam that I knew I would never use...

Where I did one of my clinicals, they had a BSN graduate new hire. They hired her as a GN in surgery. She failed her NCLEX at least once, so they were training her as a surgical tech.

Congratulations on the job--study hard!

Great. I'm glad you're happy with the outcome. Good luck on your next exam.
