After the fact I failed my NCLEX I got a call for a job interview

Published

Greetings everyone i have a situation. I recently took my nclex but failed :( but prior to taking the nclex i applied to a couple jobs and guess what ? After the fact i failed my nclex i got a call for a job interview. I went to the interview and was called in for a 2nd but after two interviews the manager never mentioned anything abt the license just my certificate and they also know that i am new grad. I was introduced to the staff members and i am getting the vibe that i may get hired. i am soooooooooo scared. What should i do ?

Call the manager and tell that person that you didn't pass the NCLEX. They will find out one way or the other and it's better if you're the one who gets to clear the air first. I would see how they respond and maybe they will give you a chance to work as a Graduate Nurse on the floor until you pass the NCLEX and get a license. It is common practice for managers to introduce an applicant for a new nursing position to staff who are working on that day. It doesn't always guarantee that the applicant is hired but getting the second interview, as you stated, is a good sign.

After failing NCLEX, you are no longer allowed to work as a graduate nurse on the floor.

OP, you need to tell them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, my bad...was that too many exclamation points? Yeah, I know the feeling.

My main concern is will they hire me as a graduate nurse. i am so scared ugh and my things is under qualifications it says Certificate needed and i compared all the other nursing positions and it included license except for this one.

Ummmmmm.....tell them?!

I think you can only work as a graduate nurse up until you take the NCLEX, but you failed.

You need to let them know.

:smackingf

In the morning i will call them i am pretty sure that job is out the window. Hope i pass the nclex 2nd time around bills are stacking up

Good luck to you. :)

I can tell you in California you cannot work as a RN once you failed the nclex. Your IP is no longer valid and you are burning your bridges by not telling them.

tell them tmw a.m that u just found out that u didnt pass your nclex exam...i know it sucks but i think u need to focus on studying so u can pass your nclex exam...u n my prayers

Oh yes, forgot about the fact that you can not work as a GN once you fail the NCLEX. It's been too long since my early years in nursing, my bad.

Yup in NY you also can't work as a GN if you've failed the boards. Concentrate on passing and I bet if they liked you now they will consider you again in the future but you have to be honest TODAY.

I thought you could only work as a GN until you sit for the NCLEX, if you pass, YAY! If not, your GN days are over. Therefore, the OP doesn't have that GN window anymore. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, please!!
