I have an interview scheduled tomorrow in L&D. It's a 10 bed L&D, with a 4 bed triage area. The have 2 ORs, one for C/S and the other for T/L. I use to work at this L&D for 3 yrs before and while going to nursing school. But when I received my LPN 3/08 , they wouldn't use me in L&D and didnt have any positions available on M/B or Peds. So I left the hospital 7/08. I didnt get my RN until 3/09.
The manager that's there is not the manager I worked with. So, I am unfamiliar with her style and what she is looking for. My fear is, because I worked there for a while, they would expect me to know a lot. But, after being gone for almost 2 yrs, I dont remember a whole lot. I have been working in SNF mostly and did Med/Surg for 6months before moving back here. Im not sure what I am getting myself in to. I have read the other posts but I feel I already answer those questions correctly, but I still haven't been hired. This will make my 4th interview in a month. I did get a pt position at a SNF and an offer for a prison contract.. But I need something full-time. I dont know what I am doing wrong. If someone can please help me, I want to get this position tomorrow. I just need to figure out what I am doing wrong. Anyhelp would be appreciated!!! :bowingpur
Thanks,
Shawn

she didn't. it was kinda weird. i'm thinking she's never interviewed a past employee or something. she said, " so what did hr tell you, do i tell you or do they". i told her hr told me that she would be in touch with me if i am selected to give me the offer. that the next orientation date would be 4/19. she said that she's never sure what hr tells us. at the end, she stated that i would be a good fit and i seem very eager to learn and i already know most of the staff in all of the units. while i was walking to the elevator. she said, we will be calling you soon. so hopefully by tomorrow or monday. she said she only had that one position available and knew thats what i wanted. she didnt say anything about anyone else having to interview for the position. :)
thanks... i didn't think that they even pay attention to that fact i was in school. she asked if orienting on dayshift be a problem with me going to school. i told her it was all online. she also asked if i was up to an intense 12 week orientation. she said i would have fetal monitoring classes thrown in with acls.
