After assuming the worst, I passed!!!

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hi everyone,

First of all, I want to thank everyone for their support. That is the true spirit of nursing. You guys always are so caring and gave me strength these past 4 days, which were torture!!!

The day before NCLEX I actually did kaplans question trainer 7 and did fairly well with a 67. The morning of NCLEX I did 20 qbank questions in order to get in the mood...(but I would recommend relaxing...hehe) I only got 75 questions and I thought they were so easy and assumed I failed...but after 5 days of waiting I found out I passed!!!!

Somehow, I thought Kaplan strategies didn't help, just doing questions and reading the rationales to see what they were actually asking!!! We graduated college and we have the knowledge within us and just have to know how to use it!!!! All of you out there you can do this!!!

If waiting for results...

The number of questions and type of questions have no say in whether you will pass or fail!!!!!!!! I only got 6 SATA and easy questions and passed!!!! Please wait for your results and learn from my experience!!! I couldn't eat and sleep! My anxiety was affecting me and also my family!!! I have a baby and was stuck studying most of the time!!! Enjoy your family...they will love you no matter what! I would recommend using suzannes plan...instead of Hurst and Kaplan who drill so much information into your head!!! Kaplan has a 600 page book!!! Suzanne was very helpful with her comments and knows cramming isn't the way!!! Good luck and thanks everyone...If I can help anyone just email me....

...oh am so proud!!!!

sophisticated49,

I think if you put yur mind to it...you can do it!!! I don't know why I thought it was easy...maybe I studied too much or maybe I already had that knowledge...but doing the kaplan questions do help and maybe the strategies didn't help me but they will help you! Good luck...any more questions ask!!! I will support everyone like they did me!!!!

Clara

I have been somewhat been following your story and I would just like to congratulate you on your achievement!!! :yeah:

Hi Clara. It's wierd because I think me and you were in the same boat. I just joined this site but I was looking at postings as a guest after I took my NCLEX. I also took it on July 1st in CA and got 75q and I felt AWFUL afterwards because I felt like my questions were basic questions, but felt like I missed them anyway. So I was 99.99% sure I failed because I didn't feel confident about ANY of my answers. I also watched Hancock the following day to take my mind off of the test, but couldn't even focus on the movie (plus I didn't think it was that great). I even already tried to start studying again after I took the test because I was pretty sure I would have to take it. I was miserable, but lo and behold there my name was on the CA brn website in the am July 4th. I was soooooooo relieved and happy. I still keep checking the site just to make sure I didn't make a mistake. But CONGRATS!

Anyway, to everyone else, have faith in yourself. I know it's easier said than done when you're preparing to take the test or waiting for results, but it really is the only ammunition you have to keep your spirits up. Believe in yourself and try not to analyze what type of questions you got or how many questions you got because you'll never figure it out. I think so many of us are so delirious after taking the test that you won't be able to remember the questions anyway and what your answer was. In case everyone wants to know, I took the Kaplan course and studied for about a month after the class ended before I took the test. I did all the Kaplan questions which was really helpful when I looked at rationales. However, I got a little bit lazy with reading the rationales towards the end because I told myself that I would recognize the answer if I saw it on the NCLEX, but beware because the NCLEX will not be the same. Make sure you read and understand all the rationales. I want to wish everyone good luck. Stay confident in yourself!

I'm also still checking the BON site since I can't believe it...!!!! I guess they did update!!! THANKS everyone!!!

The brn webside was not updated during the holiday. I called them up and listen to a recording stating that they will not operate during the holiday, but resume the following Monday at 0800. Also, the webside clearly states: last update July 2, 2008.

I just want to specify these little details otherwise I GO INSANE!!! :no:d/t I took the test on the 2nd and my name is not there yet. However, some other people I know took the test on the same day as me and are not listed either.

maps4care,

It took me 5 dats to get my result. Please have patience. Sometimes it can take longer. If you tested July 2, your name probably won't be up until Monday or later. Good Luck!!!

:yeah:

See Clara....the questions were easy because you were well prepared.

Congrats and kisses to your beautiful baby:heartbeat
