  1. I am sorry for what happened to you. If I were you, I wouldn't blame the nurse, but the instructor. It is unusual to dismiss students from the nursing programs (especially if you are paying), unless the student's performance is very poor. Usually they follow the "3 strikes you are out rule". Why would you follow a nurse on your last day of clinical? You should have been independent. Also, it is time consuming for nurses to deal with students, now I know it because I am on the other side. Go back, don't give up, but remember to always make yourself useful. It is not your job to clean bathrooms, but as long as there are patients there should be something you could do. Good luck to you
  2. It was the most stressful week of my life, but at the end I got my price: my name on BON followed by my licence number. YES, I PASSED! I AM AN RN!!! It's a good feeling.
  3. The brn webside was not updated during the holiday. I called them up and listen to a recording stating that they will not operate during the holiday, but resume the following Monday at 0800. Also, the webside clearly states: last update July 2, 2008. I just want to specify these little details otherwise I GO INSANE!!! d/t I took the test on the 2nd and my name is not there yet. However, some other people I know took the test on the same day as me and are not listed either.
  4. I hope you got your results by now. I took my test on the 3rd and went all the way to 265 questions. I am so stressed out! Good luck to you
  5. Thanks to all of you. I took my test and had a B.
  6. Only 35? You have 2 choices: become an RN and work for at least 25 years or be a mom and give up your dream. One day your kids will grow up and leave and you will be really too old to go to nursing school. Go for it! I am doing it! I am 42 and not among the oldest in my class (I have a lot of classmates in their 50s).
  7. :angryfireMultiple IVPB ordered for the same time Cetriazone 1gm/50cc 30 min QD Cefazolin 1 gm/50cc 30 min Q8hr Cipro 400 mg/200cc 60 min Q12hr Possible Solution? I don't even see the problem and my teacher expects me to find a solution? I have a test in 2 days and I am desperate, help!
  8. See? I told you so! Congratulatiooooooons!!!!!
  9. Go for it! You also have to consider that you could get into the program on your next try. I did not get in for 2 years and on my 3rd try i was #5 in waiting list. Now I am almost done! If you have to wait one year you can take advantage of this and go for the other licence, you have time later to finish the other classes. Good luck !
  10. You passed, congratulations! If you wouldn't pass, the computer would have kept going until 150 or more.
  11. Don't quit, just change unit! I am sure you can find something less stressful and more suitable for you. Probably working in Peds will be better. There is so many jobs out there. You could be a school nurse and only worry about have enough band-aids in your cabinet. I know that you don't really want to quit. If you made it so far it must be that you care, it's not the money. Try to find something that would relaxe you just half hour/day. One of my instructors likes to ride the bike, another likes to eat, I walk my dogs or take a bubble bath. Don't quit!
  12. Obviously she is not impaired (she knows exactly what she is doing). I thing you did everything you could. Be very careful, because your job could be on the line, too. If they know about the problem and don't do nothing about it, probably it is because they don'e want to. I would suggest that you concentrate on taking care of your assigned patients. If she screws-up, soon or later it will be evident, but your conscience will be clean 'cause youtold them. Really, let it go!
  13. I took care of an 80 year old pt. At the end of my day I was going to her room to say goodbuy to her, when I heard that she was talking about me to another nurse. She was telling her how nice I was, how good care I took of her, and that God should bess me....It felt good!
