AE MSN at UT Austin Summer 2012

Published

Anybody out there applying to the UT Austin AEMSN program for summer 2012? Haven't seen any posts about our group of hopefuls yet.

Interviewed today. Just want to reiterate samianquazi and laflaca's points. Standard questions, but we spent a lot of time wandering off of the cut sheet. Very friendly, relaxed atmosphere. The people (2 professors) reinforced my desire to get in to this program--skilled, experienced and extremely personable. That's who I want as professors!

Good luck!

I was also interviewed this week. Basically what eastsider has also said. Very relaxed and casual. Did anyone else not Adult Health CNS interview this week?

Interviewed today, Adult Health CNS, went well

If you SERIOUSLY want to get ahead, I guess you could go here and get some of these done:

I didn't even know you needed Heartsaver First Aid for anything before I got into the program lol.

At least make sure your immunizations are in order, because you'll need documentation of them for any nursing program

Hey y'all... So I interviewed today and it was only 15 minutes. The lady didn't want to talk much, she seemed like she wanted me in and out. She let me talk a few minutes per question and seemed like she was satisfied with my answers. Then she was like 'see I told you it wasn't anything big, just a few questions' and I felt a little rushed out. I didn't even feel like she was open to me asking questions even though I had brought some but I didn't even bother trying to initiate it cause it just didn't seem appropriate. Samian said his interview was an hour, and many of y'all said there was a lot of chit chat. I also just interviewed with one prof not a panel. What gives?

Oh and she didn't even want to shut the door

what concentration are you applying for?

no idea, i was Adult Health CNS. maybe the process is different with each concentration?

Child health is way less competitive

Interviewed today with 3 public health profs. They were so sweet. The interview was very conversational, so if you haven't interviewed yet, there is really no need to stress out!

Public Health is so much fun... it's a lot of work, of course, but I think it's just plain fun!
