AE MSN at UT Austin Summer 2012

Anybody out there applying to the UT Austin AEMSN program for summer 2012? Haven't seen any posts about our group of hopefuls yet.

haha, oook... the link just changed and now it says "log in"... SO, instead, anyone who wants to join our new AE MSN facebook group, go onto facebook and search "UT-Austin AE MSN Program." Hopefully it will appear as an option. Let me know!

Yes, the UT Student Affairs replied very quickly with the information that the above mentioned class (by eastsider, 8-hrs on 3/17) WILL work to satisfy our compliance needs. I thought I'd pass that on. I'm still seeking information on the procedure to register and pay for the class.

Alright new AE MSN members!

I am applying for the summer 2013 program and would like to hear any advice you have for getting in.

i.e. - what were your undergrad & prereq GPAs, GRE score etc etc.

Is there anything you would highly recommend to increase my chances of getting in beside the obvious? Any specific people you recommend speaking to ahead of time?

CONGRATS TO YOU ALL! I hope I'm in your shoes next year.

I'm giving up my spot in the Adult CNS track to attend another school....hopefully this is happy news for someone on the waiting list! Good luck to everyone :)

Congratulations, laflaca! Sorry we won't get to meet you, but we're happy to hear that you got in to your chosen school. Good luck in your future classes and in everything else you choose!

Another undeclared student here! I've been looking online to get a feel for what our coursework is going to be like, but I think it'd be a lot easier if someone from 2011's cohort gave us a heads up on what to start reading...I already know about Jarvis' book and I'm getting a feeling we'll be needing Ignatavivius' book, too. However, Jarvis published a new 6e of her book, so I'm wondering if we really need to purchase that one...you all know how eager institutions are to get more money out of you!

Hey all, I almost forgot about this thread since I've been so busy!

First off, I want to congratulate all of you guys that got admitted and are attending! More than likely, I'll see you either in the summer or the fall this year, so nice to meet you all in advance! And if you didn't get in -- no sweat! Just beef up your credentials and you can definitely re-apply in the following round. (Trust me: It's worth it.)

Also, let me point out that Adult Health (aka, Pathophysiology) was really hard only in my experience. There were people in my cohort, friends of mine, that got As on virtually every single test, and they loved every minute of it. I thought, "How'd ya do that?! :O" So it's not difficult per se, but it really depends on the person. Just in case anyone got scared by it :)

Staying ahead of the curve definitely helps in this program, so like I said, if you do the readings well in advance, you'll obviously be better prepared! Once again, congrats and welcome to the folks who are coming in this Summer, be sure to get the compliance stuff done earlier rather than later, and if you have any questions, do ask!

Hey Kat_Walk - I left you a private message back on March 27. Did ya get it?

Eastsider, looks like you are on here right now. What group did you get placed in (A, B, C, or D)? I met you before our CPR class. I forget your real name though. Bad with names.

So do you recommend reading those texts? Is there any other literature that sticks out with you? What about the 5e vs 6e of Jarvis?

Which class is Jarvis' book for? Is this for summer or planning ahead to fall?
