Is it ever okay in any circumstance for an RN to take home clients narcotic medications to set them up for dispensing? My coworker supervisor took home over 25 clients suboxone to "set up for dispensing" so she didnt have to come in to work early. I think this violates Minn board of nursing regulations. Is so do I have a duty to report? I am an LPN

THIS.

OP, did you report this already???

You should NOT be sitting on this information any longer.

Can I say this one time, NEVER EVER IS THIS ALLOWED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If that nurse is doing this, she needs to be stopped. Who is to say she is not taking this medication or abusing it? She is not allowed to do this under any law....

I have a sneaking suspicion she didn't also take the BP meds or cholesterol meds to "set them up". That's a special kind of stupid if that was her true intention, however I highly doubt that it was.

OP, where are you, we are interested in follow up
