advice from u.k nurses in canada on relocation

Published

My wife and i have start dates already and we are at a dilema re: what and what not to take with us bearing in mind 2 young kids. Is it wise and financially beneficial to bring furnitures and household items? Also advice on which removal company to use will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

You too - see you in 2009 - you'll be just across the corridor from me so I'm sure we'll bump inot each other plenty of times! Especially when I come to steal your unit's bladder scanner!:D

Have a safe flight!

Those poor bladder scanners. Next to the ECG, the most nicked item off units...

Hi Rebecca

Merry Xmas again. I just came home from my night shift and I will cook dinner for the family. I am on again tonite for my last shift. I know you may be thinking that I am still working. Unfortunately the period of notice was 8 weeks so technically my last day of work is 31st DEc 08. I am taking my last annual leave due to me.

Flight is booked for the 1st of January 09. Yeah New Year's day ...New beginning ...I am nervous ....can i change my mind and not go....**** I am worried.

Have a nice Xmas and Happy New Year to all of you here

Bye

:D Though they are wise to the risks & have a sign out book & if you don't get it back to them within 15 mins they call you & give you serious grief!

Wouldn't be normal if you weren't worried!

There's going to be ups & downs. Things you like & things you don't. Just stay cool & keep your eye on the bigger picture! Remind yourself why you left the UK in the 1st place. Personally I don't miss a thing!

Oh my goodness Ibby - as SD said - you're as bad as my daughter!! She also decided to check out the Canadian Health Service early on by cracking a bone in her ankle on our friands trampoline 2 days into us arriving!!!!

I wish you better really soon & hope your second try will be more successful!!

I hope it hasn't put you off the snow already! Although we're in for a warm weekend - +12!!!

Hi, i am new to this site so hope i've posted this in the right place, i was just wondering if anyone could give me any information.

I'm planning on immigrating with my husband to BC, Canada. Have sent off application to the CRNBC for consideration to take the CRN exam, just waiting to hear back. Have also been in contact with a health authority in BC who are coming to London in march to interview for nursing positions.

However i havent yet done anything about a visa, do i need to be applying for this now??

If anyone has any helpful advice on the process i would be very greatfull

Thanks
