How to pay NMC application fee for overseas nurses

World Immigration

Published

Good day! I just received the request for application pack from the NMC, In the booklet it is said that I need to pay an application fee of 140GBP, i read that I can pay through check, bank draft or credit card. JUST THAT. There was no specific instruction on how to actually send your payment. Any overseas nurses out there who has already paid the application fee? how did you do it? if you used bank draft/personal checks, what banks do the NMC honor? Would really appreciate the help.

I would like to share my application status and ask for opinion from those who have applied for UK here in the Philippines.

I decided to work with ASC Global (Drake Int'l) for my UK application. I passed the initial interview with the nurse consultant. Now im still waiting for the schedule for the panel interview with the UK employers (Kings College Hospital - NHS trust). It has been two months now. Is Greenfields Int'l better? do they process the applications more efficiently than Drake? Greenfields has been reminding me to complete the documents they have sent me. Should I just go with them instead?

hi

mahbuchai! how is your

application with greenfields going?

did you have the interview last

april with northwest london NHS

trust? any word on the certificate

of sponsorship yet? I'll be going

back to manila next week (may 17)

to schedule my medicals.

Hello sir! Actually i have requested

for an application pack to the NMC

through their website right after i

received my IELTS score. They e-

mailed me saying that i would

receive my application pack within

21 working days. Two days after, i

contacted an agent in the

Greenfields and he

sent me some documents ( AandE

assessment forms, CV format,

Medicine Computations, and a

paper of agreement) to

accomplish. I have sent it back to

them and now i'm still waiting for

the application pack so i can

proceed. I haven't gotten to any

interview at the moment maybe

because the agency is also waiting

for my application pack.

Can you please share me some

tips or notes regarding the

interview? I'm really looking

forward to be on the "Hot Seat"

sooner or later..

God bless on your Medical Exam...

for those who applied thru the agencies in the Phil. May i know how long after your interview you got you package for the NMC?

May i know what package are you referring to? If your talking about the application pack from the NMC, it'll take 21 working days after requesting for it from the NMC website. I only get through the agency right after i requested for the application pack.

lol sorry i was referring to Pack 1. Greenfields has also invited me, but i wasn't sure about signing an agreement this early within the application process. I have already passed the initial interview with a nurse consultant from the other agency, and it was nerve wracking. Im expecting the panel interview with the employers from UK to be three times as much!

Do you know anyone who has already been deployed to UK through Greenfields?

@mean_gurl98

I don't know anyone yet who has been deployed to the UK thru the greenfields..but i've read a couple of forums and their telling me that greenfields has helped a lot of fil nurses to get a job in the UK. I know ploy_jam is presently processing his papers now thru greenfields and he got the job after he passed the Intrview (im not sure if it was conducted by the NHS). You don't need to worry about the agreement paper. The agent told me i can sign it later.

I think you can also ask ploy_jam about the process..

I have moved this thread to the international forums as it is not really about nursing issues in the UK but about immigration and registration issues.

thanks sharrie...

I think it would be helpful if there would be subforums for each country above that would discuss anything relating to registration, application, immigration, such and such? I'm not sure but i think topics here in the international forum is kinda mixed up and important topics regarding applications are pinned down whenever a new topic arise..

Well it's still up to you guys.. Im just sharing my opinion..

Thanks anyway!

Deart mahbunchai,

Greetings!

Tips? hmmm.... hehehe based from my experience with the interview from ashford and st. peter's (which I failed BTW lol :p) they are more inclined to ask with the technical aspect of the job (ECG tracing, management of chest pains, falls, nosocomial infections) it was the matron who interviewed me thru skype, it went horribly because I wasnt expecting those to be asked. With my second interview it was with Northwest London Hospital NHS trust and it was a face to face interview, their questions was more focused on your personal judgement regarding certain situations, like how you would react to conflicts in the workplace, changes i shift patterns etc. the technical aspect was done on the written interview, multiple choice questions about anatomy 10 items drug computations.Do good on the written because this comprises half the score of the interview

I would suggest you prepare atleast 5 questions to the employer, focus your questions more on the "work" aspect, it is their method of knowing what are your real motives in going to the UK, dont ask questions as if you are going on a holiday (questions like is the hospital near buckingham palace? or what places are nice to visit during this time of year?) doing so would produce drastic results based on experience hehehe.. it would give an impression that you are expecting a holiday and not some back breaking hospital work. Try to show that you are really going to the UK because of work not because you want to have a good time.

with ASC global from what I have heard it is focused more more on the NCP (I dont know how true, maybe it depends on the employer).

I hope my tips would help you in your coming interview.I am speaking from experience and I cannot guarantee that you would be exposed to the same conditions. I wish you best of luck and sincerely hope you would pass :-)

Good luck and stay positive! kaya mo yan!! hehehe

oh btw ploy_jam may i ask if you certified true copy your documents(passport, boardcertificate, birthcertificate) to the DFA or you just had it notarized by an attorney?

hi ploy_jam, you have mentioned about ASC Global. I am currently working my papers with them, and still waiting for them to line me up for another interview, this time with the UK employers already. May i know what made you decide to work with Greenfields instead of ASC?
