Hello everyone, I'm in need of advice. My story is a little complicated as far as nursing goes . In 2013, I came straight out of hs and went into a BSN program . My grades were straight C's and a few B's and I knew I wasn't doing well at the moment so I left. Fast forward to 2015, I enrolled at my local CC and finished my pre reqs. Did much better (all A's and B's) and graduate next month with my associate's in healthcare studies. I'm now having issues applying to BSN And even ADN programs because of my past. I'm not sure what to do . My ending goal is to become a forensic nurse practitioner so I know I had a long road ahead of me . With me not getting into any programs would it be in my best interest to do a LPN program, or would I be setting myself back in a sense ? I can only do part time programs as well so it limits my options. Anyone ever been in a similar situation? What did you do ? I'm in PA if that helps !

I would go the LPN route and bridge to an RN program. This is what my plan is. I do not see it holding me back, because I know what my end goal is. Good luck!
Thanks for your reply and good luck in all your future endeavors!

What's your overall GPA? I had a terrible year of college that's coming back to haunt me, too.
I've read on here that in some cases you can get academic forgiveness for previous bad grades, so that might be something you look into, too.
Good luck!

Our State did away with the LPN program. Now the only LPN programs are private and cost around $30K. If the LPN program is affordable defiantly worth a shot.
If you have your Associates Degree go for it apply to a BSN program. Maybe re take some prerequites if the program's looking to apply to allow it.
Good luck.
