ADN Fall 2011 Hopefuls!!!

I wanted to start a thread for those of you who have or will apply to ADN programs for the Fall 2011 semester. I have started the process but I have completed my application yet. I am nervous and super stressed. Join this thread so we can vent together. Share our journeys into nursing school.

Hi, everyone! This is such a great thread!! I have enjoyed reading about so many of you applying to your desired nursing programs, and learning later that you have been accepted! Do you mind if I join in your hopeful group? I live in Maryland, and have applied to two ADN programs. The first school that I applied to should be informing me soon (the deadline was Feb. 15), and they said that they would be sending out acceptance letters in the beginning to mid-April. This program actually starts in the summer, because it is accelerated. The second program will be informing applicants by late April. The wait has been a bear!!! I have been keeping occupied with my chemistry, and nutrition class (all of my prereqs are done). Sometimes, I just call the school when I know that no one is there (they have a recording that says when letters will be sent out) to see if they are mailing out even sooner! Isn't that desperado! Well, my hat is off to you my fellow pre-nursing hopefuls! :D

hello miss tekeboo, welcome...though I am newer to this thread as well.

Funny, I also got a thin letter from my school and my heart sank. Then I realized it was from financial aid. So glad I am not the only one doing this stuff.:)

Hello everyone,

I am new here. I have been lurking around for a bit, but this is my first time posting. It has been oddly comforting to read the thoughts of so many others who are in the same boat as me. I am also anxiously awaiting the decision of my first choice school. The program at this particular school allows you to go all three semesters, which means that the people who begin this summer will graduate with their RN in Dec. 2012. I love the thought of that! In the mean time, I am finishing up my last two classes for my degree in health sciences which I will receive next month. If it turns out that I do not get in this time around, a new application period opens up from April - June and then I will get the added bonus of points for a previous degree. Eventually it will happen, so I am trying not too stress out too much. Although that is much easier said than done. I wish everyone the best of luck and I hope none of us goes too bonkers while we are waiting!

took the compass today and got all the scores i needed for the nursing program im applying to! did GREAT on the HESI too....

BUT, All my school transcripts need in there within the next 10 days, i ordered them over 2 weeks ago from all schools and they're still not there! if they're not in there within 10 days, i can't apply! GRRRR

Heres hoping everything will work out though!!!

Gamegirl, so glad that you did well on your Compass and Hesi exams! Gosh, don't you hate when you do your part (ordering your transcripts on time), and you are just waiting for the school records to send your transcripts! It wasn't like you waited until the last minute to order them, and yet the school is compromising your chances to get into the nursing program! Hopefully, your transcripts will get to your desired destination before the deadline. Keep us posted!

My school called me today to let me know my online application was finally fixed. 4 months and 3 weeks later. I can't believe its been that long. Well she also told me decisions would be made in 2-3 weeks!!!!!! Much better than May. Off to do midterm, very motivated now.

OK nothing in the mail again today.. i'm overly anxious I know they sent out there first round of letters since orientation is next tuesday so i'm hoping to be an alternate.

but on a funny note i was watching Big Momma's house (3rd one) and i love the part where he tackles the mailman because i've felt like doing that the past few days because he takes forever to deliver our mail. lol
